btwn this, increased class sizes w/ fewer TAs (yay reading 400 chatGPT essays!), aggressive requirements for open data/code (metadata reqs, registered reports 1+ year in review w/ no data collection, etc)... a slo-mo catastrophic fail of academia. in 100 years we'll see it as an abrupt collapse.
