this could have been a great shitting view if not for the fact that the only way to hide is to plant an umbrella to hide behind it while walking back towards the van with your film crew waiting.

i'm so used to commuting at least 20min from point A to point B in the city so it feels fucking efficient to look at the map of a smaller city and the distance to every other places is just much closer.

real. i never really considered being far away from family could be a difficult thing. once a very sweet person found out that i migrated alone at 18 and they deadass said "you are so strong".

i think we should keep that veil of mystique. it's funnier that way.

culture wars amongst us plebs aside, i'm sure our governments would love to foster a harmonious region with booming tourism economy and promising real estate markets.

but one newfound issue is that now i'm reading mandarin with a slight anglo influence... this is how multilingualism is meant to be.

not that i want to pass as a native speaker, but more or less trying to pin down how to describe my accent.

if political comms analysis didn't have enough headaches with search engines and platform algorithms, then throwing in a chatbot to this conundrum is going to create a new level of hysteria.

much like how Femi is suggesting here, it's a cultural issue where we're somehow much clumsier to navigate between narratives. some of us has witnessed Poasters Diseases, and maybe we should develop a culture to keep ourselves in check. bsky.app/profile/oluf...

this actually makes me think of the rise of AI summary feature popping up everywhere. we're in this situation of desiring shortcut for meaning without having to work for it. and so venturing beyond our personal context begins to feel rather intimidating. also context collapse.

maybe the price of western convenience is paid by the insurmountable cost of labour and time by the majority of the globe.
030
René Hà @reneshaf.bsky.social · 26/09/2026
this has been well recorded but i'm rather surprised how the conversation of digital labour is not mentioned enough. the very infrastructure of AI, like many industries at scale, has the same old dynamic of colonial exploitation. www.context.news/ai/ai-boom-i...

relating to the racial aspect of the AI industry, i'm thinking abt the very evident labour force behind these LLMs training. a friend whose job is a data labeller in Viet, they wld have to shift through a myriad of content daily. and eventually those datasets will be sold off to intl clientele.

oooo thanks for writing this! this is also a theme that i noticed for the past couple of years when platform economy popularity also coincides with the rise of digital banking. i didn't think it could expand so fast if anyone ever tried to imagine this five years ago.

The paper asks what becomes visible when we take these practices seriously as part of the platform economy itself: not marginal curiosities, but ordinary ways of finding income, managing uncertainty, and building automation from whatever tools are at hand.
