Also, in order to cook a complicated recipe, I have to be a little bit hungry. Too hungry and I'll just snack. Not hungry and the recipe is too much trouble. Always a danger I'll *sample* the recipe too much and not be hungry once it's finished.

We used to vacation in Minnesota early every summer. We stayed in a cabin on a lake. I would get up just before dawn to listen to the loons. Haunting. Watching them during the day was my happy place.

Took these earlier this evening. I had just found this one. That oak leave is about 4-4.5 inches long. These things pop up in the weirdest places. Gravel roads, packed paths, driveways. I'll get some better pictures in the morning.

I had fungus, like this, pop up right out of the blacktop in the driveway. Found some last summer, on the side of a gravel road. Doesn't even look like fungus.
