But is it fascism? Do they really yearn for apocalypse? Isn't that polarizing? Shouldn't we be nice to them? We made a short video so folks can hear the end timers in their own words and judge for themselves: www.youtube.com/watch?v=aK2n...

... where the housed population demands something be "done" about our community members without wanting to do anything that actually supports people in crisis or people who have complex needs. They just want them to disappear, and we've already seen people offered MAiD as that solution.

It's such a complex issue and it's hard to know what the best course of action can be at times, but allowing doctors to suggest it for socially inconvenient patients was the worst possible move to make. I live in a city wih a large population of houseless community members...

I'm a cancer survivor who supports MAiD and expanding it to being able to pre-approve it for those in decline so their worst fears never acualize. I'm also disabled and despise that this important service is being pushed on people who DON'T want to die as a eugenicist solution to support problems.

A little motivation
4 panel comic:
Panel 1: forg is drawing. There’s some extra pencils and some coffee on his desk. He says “all I can do..”
Panel 2: he is now doing work on his computer. Looks like he completed some drawings. He continues “..is my best”
Panel 3: he is now making some food in the kitchen, wielding a pan and wearing a tiny chefs hat. He continues talking to himself “..and my best..”
Panel 4: at the end of his long cozy day he’s in bed, and finishes his sentence “.. will do”

I was 9 when it happened. I remember how scary it was, even in Canada, and to see it commodified into mattress sales and turned into a flippant farce has been fascinating and horrifying in equal measure. "Never forget" apparently meant "any excuse to make money."

Hearing about ad from someone there who's dealing with this whole situation was sobering. I'm in Canada and while our leftist scene is at times frustratingly stupid, at least it's not a life or death situation from within.

I went to a beer festival where a local producer had made a special one-off batch of a basil beer. I have never forgotten that beer and spent years asking them to do it again. I mourn that beer.

Seeing my friends' recordings helped me remember a bit of what happened, and the band's dvd release of that tour stop also helped. Being in the moment wasn't helpful overall though, I think the brain can go into overwhelm and assume you're suffering haha

In practice I think it depends on your level of excitement for the concert. I didn't take my phone out a single time at a concert I was INCREDIBLY excited for, and I left not remembering much of what happened.

Kittens are a handful, but getting two at the same time means they direct most of that energy towards each other! My family's best experience so far was getting a bonded pair of kittens.🥰 We've never had trouble with litter, and our more destructive cat is a semi-feral singleton but we love her haha

Handmade flyers look so much cooler, especially if they're a black and white photocopy. One caught my eye the other day and it made me so happy to see. If I see an AI poster, my instict is to ignore it and never attend whatever it is that it's advertising.

But does HE appreciate ME?
A black medium-fur cat with wide eyes sits on top of a cat tree platform absolutely encrusted with his shed fur. He looks down through a window at another black cat, absolutely incredulous that the other cat dares to exist iutside his window. The second cat cannot be seen.

Pretty sure this song is called Chingges Khaanii Magtaal. There's a classical Mongolian group called Black Horse and I used to listen to their album obsessively, definitely recognized the first few seconds even in a different key from the recording I'm used to haha

Quebec and BC are already seeing major electricity demand increases specifically from data centers, and Ontario and Alberta are forecasting increases as well. Specifically from data centers. www.cer-rec.gc.ca/en/data-anal...

If you can't extrapolate what happens in one community when data centers come in to other places with similar conditions, then I don't know what to say to you. These are not a net-positive and have incredibly negative impacts both environmentally and on consumers and community members more broadly.

Surely the mega-sucks of energy that are causing the UK's power bills to triple have nothing to do with that, not even a little.

Moose @rendadams.bsky.social · 17/08/2026
Electricity demand is doubling? Gosh I WONDER WHY who KNOOOOWS why that would happen??? God forbid corporate causes of that increase would have to pay for that 200% increase! We can't have poor unfortunate multinational conglomerates and corporations having to pay their share! 🙄
