I just priced out the concrete, drainage, pumps and other ancillary items. All told the quote I received for doing this job before all the price hikes was 40k, closer to 70k now... It's going to cost me about 6k. Next steps, lowering the raised floor 6 inches, replacing wood. Then, walls... >:3 soon

Speaking of not being shocked I updated a Windows 10 laptop today and the operating system bricked. And I can't do a restore because apparently a local admin account does not count as an admin account to the Windows recovery partition.

Windows broke RDP so bad on Sept 15th, I can't even enable it, the enable toggle auto switches off once I switch it on, no matter how much registry editing, service enabling or power shell scripting I do... They put out a hotfix patch but I applied it and that doesn't work either... what a joke.

I know the feeling, currently waiting on WD to send me a 16tb replacement drive that'd cost me 800 out of pocket if it wasn't under warranty. If a single ECC ddr4 module went up in my lab I'd probably be okay to wait out the storm, replacing all 8 would bankrupt me. >.<

I should sell the ram I don't have a use for... that new memory manufacturer in China is about done validating its chips with MSI... they have the same production capacity as Micron (About 30% of current market share.) When they come fully online I see a "flash" crash in prices... hah hah...

You know, I probably would have that mindset if I didn't meet most of my local fur friends at this Renfaire. Wearing a suit is how we found each other. It's aggravating because it seemed like it was a pretty chill space to hang out, watch shows and show off our characters in Renfaire garb.

They're going as far as banning faux animal pelts and wolf masks, allowing other cosplay like Spider-Man and a few other Cosplays with off theme head coverings as long as you have it off before going in, but fursuit heads are banned from the fare entirely.

Most renfaires are not historically accurate and this one in particular makes no effort to ban other unrelated garb. They are selectively targeting a specific group for whatever reason instead of punishing the individuals involved from their vague and very general examples. It's wrong.

Yeah... it really sucks right now. I'm running compression on anything I don't need immediate access to and converting raw/large video files to h265 to stave off the need for more space but that'll only help for so long.

This ended up being prophetic... One of my 16TB drives died and now I'm running off of emulation for that drive. Luckily that one is still under warranty... so, dodged a bullet.
