This is spot on & it's not new. I'm not a particularly young person and it's been an expectation of only the left to understand the perspective of the right ("real Americans") throughout the entirety of my lifetime. In fact, the entire "liberal media" was built around presenting this perspective.

It's always interesting how "liberal" or "leftwing" spaces (whether perceived or actual) have to "stop being a bubble", but no one asks the same of Truth Social or any of the other rightwing spaces.

Yes, coders absolutely love agents, but outside of that community, there’s resistance. Microsoft has seen this in the underperformance of its AI productivity tools. Are you anticipating similar headwinds with agentic AI? They’ll either like it or they won’t. I remember when the Walkman came out and people said, “No one’s going to wear those things on their heads. Those headphones look ridiculous.” Now we all walk around with these white Q-tips hanging out of our ears.

You literally need to check the date/time on these stories because he's pulled the same scam every single week. I assume the journalist just copy/pastes the whole thing (as well as the next article noting that Iran has agreed to nothing and, in fact, no talks exist).

It is rather shocking how this phishing scam is using tools built into WhatsApp to seem legit. Sadly it appears the details of my hotel reservation were accessed (though hotel never notified me until I reported this), making it even more convincing. Watch out.

This isn't exactly a surprise. While the Disney-era films performed well in theaters, The Last Jedi divided fans, while everyone hated The Rise of Skywalker. The latter left such a bad taste in the fandom's collective mouth that it may have retroactively ruined even the solidly enjoyable The Force Awakens.

Asking AI what it thinks about the future imo shows a disqualifying misunderstanding of how AI works. AI is trained on the past. AI doesn't "know" anything, it's a predictive/probabilistic text engine. Predicting the future requires a deep understanding of the past & AI doesn't "understand" anything

This excerpt from Ben Thompson's newsletter is laugh out loud funny. Anyone who follows Trump knows that he's thoroughly ignorant of issues & given no consideration to the impact of his choices. He acts purely on id & ego. Attributing this level of strategic awareness to Trump is pure sanewashing.

One possibility is that Trump is actually following through on the "pivot to Asia" that U.S. Presidents have been talking about but failing to execute on for years; in this view the U.S. is girding itself up to defend Taiwan and other entities in Asia, and hopefully break up the burgeoning China-Russia relationship in the process.

The other explanation is more depressing, but perhaps more realistic: President Trump may believe that the unipolar U.S.-dominated world that has been the norm since the fall of the Soviet Union is drawing to a close, and it's better for the U.S. to proactively shift to a new norm than to have it forced upon them.
