Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 03/10/2026Almost daily, would hit the store on way home from subway stop. Had a cloth grocery bag with shoulder strap for heavy items or carrying in the winter so I could keep my hands in coat pockets. When I moved to suburbs, picked a house two blocks from store so I could still walk to get groceries. 030

Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 27/09/2026I took a History of Physics and Astrophysics class in college that was entirely populated by physics majors (except for me) needing humanities credits. It's a little strange to see it as an either/or proposition. . . Unless framing it as such is simply a way of boosting one's visibility by farming Internet outrage. 010

It's nuts that ballots mailed in Benton or Franklin counties travel up to Spokane just to get routed right back to the county offices. This doesn't even consider the likelihood that they're purposely slow walking the mail. 030

Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 02/09/2026Don't all these map apps just automatically upload place designations from the US Geological Survey or something? Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026And, where I actually lived was where I soon determined it was important for me to vote. I never lived in my *permanent residence* again. In fact, my parents moved my freshman year at college to the other side of the state. Six months in, my permanent residence was a place I had never lived. 010
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026You literally do not have to claim this. The IRS states clearly that you can live someplace other than your parents' residence while attending school and still be a dependent. 100
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026It's never shocking just how patronizing you can be. I love it when you yell at the "kids" on your lawn, even when they're legal adults. . . Don't ever change. It's entertaining as hell. Frustrating, sure. But still entertaining. 010
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026When I chose to go away from home to school, I wasn't gaming anything. Also, I was dependent as hell on my parents the entire time; they paid for almost everything, and, I still never lived in their house again. Voting where I actually lived made far more sense than voting at "home." 120
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026It doesn't actually matter because revenue code and voting rights are not legally dependent. Even if they were, there are exceptions to dependent residency in the revenue code, one of which is so the dependent can attend school. The code accepts that dependents can domicile elsewhere. 100
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026It's just as interesting as how many people don't understand what the hell exceptions are and instead hyper focus on a single term like dependent as if it really even matters in a discussion about voting. 020
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026". . . with some exceptions." I wonder what those are? I'm not 100% sure what's being argued over here, but some of you seem to think the dependent residency thing is more set in stone than it is. 010
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/08/2026Not really sure if Revenue Code should be a factor here at all. Why should it be more determinative than physical location? I voted absentee at my "home" address my first year at college, even though I never "lived" in that house again. I moved to the big city and never looked back. 020

Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 09/05/2026It's neither bizarre nor unprecedented that people would "read anything other" than the narrow and often ambiguous intent of the poster into silly meme posts. Might be better to frame this in order to pressure the majority ownership group to buy him out... 100
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/02/2026It's not his group, it's a 2.5% stake owned by Ed Roski since he went in with Anschutz to buy a minority of the team. The Guggenheim group bought out Anschutz before buying out the Buss family recently. It's unclear if Roski sold his small piece at that time, too. 000
Clancy, Use the Remote @remoteclancy.bsky.social · 13/02/2026Does Roski still have a stake in the Lakers, or was his 2.5% bought out by the new ownership group when the Buss family sold their majority interest? Usually, minority owners like him have tag-along rights which allow them to sell to the majority ownership during these types of purchases. 010
