Suit finished in time for #LSFC! For my first suit I think it came out alright 🦅 Wouldn't have been done in time if not for @pandafold.bsky.social. Everything fit the first time, even the straight-line markings spanning front to back, *and* I can master plan the next one for a proper #FursuitFriday

20 days out from #LSFC and I thought I might be able to actually get a full suit done in time for the parade. Core of the suit roughed in & head mostly finished. #fursuit #fursuitfriday 🦅🪶

Started patterning the head ~1 mo out from #LSFC. Wasn't sure what to do on the legs so went with a very angular scuting to see how it looks. Iterating on iris & pupil style. Decent progress to a full #fursuit for #FursuitFriday 🦅🪶
Initial panels for the eye patch and supercilium sewn together & placed on the head base. Resting on a lamp.2/3 panels of a leg cover sewn together. Yellow minky fur with blue chevrons sewn in to imitate scutesOne leg cut and sewn turned inside out. Yellow minky fur with some interfacing to help sew in some stylized scutesVarious iris and pupil sizings on paper to test before printing the final on mesh

A fullsuit by #LSFC. Cloudy goal that went better than expected. Started with the mantle piece/upper arms. Modded a hand pattern w/escapes & angular scutes. Patterned the body in @pandafold.bsky.social Working towards a proper #fursuitfriday 🦅 #fursuit
Dorsal view of the mantle piece. Center section is black w/some rust orange along the wings and white under it.Yellow handpaws, pattern by @sheenitude.bsky.social. Added some finger escapes and angular scute/scale lines.View of the mantle piece in PandaFold

Worked quick to get the head mostly done by EOY for a trial run @ #PDFC. Indecisive on eye design, popped in some basic pupils. My Creators Constructive Criticism for my next one: Use a pattern, at least for the neckwrap. That way it won't attach so weirdly. #fursuit & #fursuitfriday 🦅

Second stage of production: Sewed up a neckwrap/mantle and the front & sides of the head are done by December. *After* getting this far I decided to get a sewing machine, better late than never I suppose #Fursuit & #FursuitFriday technically. 🦅🐦

Wanted to make a good friend a gift but wasn't sure what. Remembered LSFC & figured I'd make a partial for them. I know they like blue-jays but have never seen any art from them, so I just free-handed based on the real bird. Kept it a surprise but they suggested taking progress pics starting Nov '25
First progress photo. Subject: The front of an in-progress avian fursuit head. Markings/patterning inspired by C. cristata: Blue Jays. Most of the fur is trimmed down, with scalloping on the top to evoke feathers.
Taken: Nov 7thSecond in-progress photo. Subject: Inside view of the front half of an avian fursuit head without lining.
Photo shows spring mechanisms for the articulated jaw on both sides of the back of maw. Fur on top of the head is folded over the now leather-clad beak, was in the process of attaching a misprinted gnathotheca to the top of the head to emulate the feather crest on real blue jays.
Taken: Nov 20th
