It's #LitMagWeek, and we've submitted our Best of the Net nominations!! Visit [Next Realities], [MachineWitness], and Issue•6 to revisit the works! (FYI BOTN has a strict no-AI policy, so several experimental works that we published last year that are ineligible for consideration. Love y'all tho!)

Happy #LitMagWeek to all!! One of our favorite parts about publishing is the community that gets built, little by little, as we meet and share each other's work. This is a screengrab from our most recent reading, coming soon to YouTube!

It's an exercise of trust and camaraderie to bring a guest editor on, and Benjamín was such a great sport with this issue! Thank you, thank you, thank you !!! Read our Guest Editor's Manifesto for [Expanded Literature] today @ben_zxb and @las15letraseditorial <3

One more work to round us out: we're excited to feature our first Scrollimation! @ThisisAltSalt's Scroll-centered medium allows for a long, animated works— and this collection by 8 "Quantized" Authors makes great use. Check it on the AltSalt platform! altsalt.com/scrollie/quantum-entanglement/1427/

Another incredible interactive Emoji work by @cyberleoflores, who you'll remember from "Tiny Protests" in our [MachineWitness] issue! Another code-inflected work that permutes based on what you add into the Kitchen Lab, it's meant to critique the cultural mix-and-match that corporations appropriate.

After corresponding semi-regularly with @carribeantechnopoetics and @koontiepress, we're stoked that @ben_zxb chose to feature some of Nicolás's P5.js pieces! These are super interactive + moving at the same time, pointing towards @textvra, Rousset's benefit art fair for Venezuela earthquake victims

A huge joy of working with @ben_zxb and other collaborators at re•mediate has been opening ourselves out to more multilingual work—+ this generative poem by Mehulkumar Desai + Deena Larsen is part-English, part-Gujarati! Shoutout to our friends @ Indian Consortium for Interactive Digital Narratives!

This is the 2nd or 3rd "Prompt" that re•mediate has published, and we're interested in the "Potential Literature" it's coming to represent. Like (but so different from) code, this piece by @newmediaartclub is meant to summons literature from a machine. Read the original essay, linked, on our site!

A cozy-feeling Twine story for your Monday, beautifully designed by @aaron.elsabrout and at the top of the new issue of remediatelitmag.xyz/issue6! Feat. some gorgeous animations and a really thoughtful process note about composition and relationship to horticulture — read it today!

Another banger for you to interact with: @Amanda_hodes's generative poem "Natural Resources". A grandchild, perhaps, of Nick Montfort's "Through The Park" and Lillian-Yvonne Bertram's "Travesty Generator", it explores the gendered language of Americana's relationship to (+ exploitation of) the land.

Another interactive piece for your perusal this week: @c0b4ult's "distances (mycoessay)," which rhizomatically explores grief and decomposition in interlinked vignettes. Take your time with this moving work either at remediatelitmag.xyz/issue6 or @tenderprospects, where it's also been exhibited!

As if to celebrate the 1-year anniversary of our prior guest-edited issue, [Next Realities], we're featuring Collier Nogues's "Ghost Ship" and "Naval Basin," two 360-degree, VR poems. Both of them are part of an incredible larger collection featured at the ELO 2026 Exhibition & FeelsLikePower.com!

We're really excited to feature some more critical work in the new issue of re•mediate, including an essay by Justin Gallant that interrogates the circulation of AI images as political events that spawn more political events and images. —> swipe to read a piece of their process note!

And it wouldn't be a guest-edited issue without a throwback to our last guest-edited issue, which itself might be a good example of [Expanded Literature] due to its commitment to lots of pieces really closely related to the reader's experience in [Next Realities]!!!

Our first feature is Espejo de Carne! Benjamín's work won the Robert Coover Award for a Work of Electronic Literature at last year's ELO Awards. Espejo de Carne takes place in 2067 + uses branched narrative + images to explore the idea of the clone. Buy/Read a sample at lasquinceletraseditorial.es!

In our latest newsletter, we reflect on the way we balance receiving interactive, coded, + machine-generated submissions w/ those that are composed under more traditional + analog practices. Our mission is to feature computer-assisted work, but not to take pieces that all read the same way.

We especially love when code-based and animated work is interactive in some way— in Harshit Singh's "Patchnotes," the poem rebukes any human interrupting its composition! Each refresh of the page will yield a refresh of the poem, too, so experience it for yourself today at remediatelitmag.xyz/issue5

In our new issue, our contributors run the gamut with all sorts of computer-based and computer-assisted writing. Even some of our most traditional-looking pieces, like Wendy Schaffer's poem here, were ideated alongside tools like Claude, though never entirely written with generative AI.
