Oh! I've got that one! Really enjoyed Rhiannon when rereading it last year, so will put this one to the front for 'comfort reading'...

I'm happy though that there's more interest for the ancient heritage - 20 years ago you couldn't even find a pamphlet leading to the sites, and in the words of a culture honcho: "There was no history before 1700. Just some chieftains squabbling."

Ahhh, such a shame! Here in the UK, there's a lot of damage like that caused by detectorists first, and finds being sold privately instead of donated to musea. And yeah, the archaeological map I'm using has a lot of "no visible remains"

It is! :-) I really love these places where I can really feel *history* (with a whiff of myth) - giving a "Robin of Sherwood" sort of feeling, if you know what I mean...

New favourite local spot - the Shandon Park Motte ('sean dún' = 'old fort', so may be pre-Norman). It was always closed off, but now it's open for a few hours on Sunday. A gorgeous view over the whole surroundings; photos don't do it justice, and a video only gives a vague impression.

...It was hayfever apparently, as I got a massive serotonin crash (the full shivers and shakes). Made a pillow fort for myself and Brandy and rode it out with a nice book. After a nap, feeling much better, and even did some art prep.

Thread: what to give the artist for Christmas? Adding: give them a wee starter set for an art they don't do, but you feel they might want to try.

It was a lovely day today, except for that half hour around noon - just when I was outside jogging. Back home, it took quite a while before I had teh feeling in my fingers back. I'll need to find me some good thermal gloves, as the Raynaud's gets fairly debilitating!

Am I the only one who is a bit uneasy about the Susan Dell memes going round? I kinda feel sorry for her, starving herself for MAGA acceptance. Jokes about the appearance of horrible people inevitably are also jokes about people with a similar physique. (See also: DUP's Carla Lockhart)

So I went to the 'book boat' that landed in Belfast, so you don't have to: half the stock is xtian books, the other half the usual Bargain Books stock. And you've got to go through a "Journey of Life" display, though surprisingly (?) there's no hard sell. It was a nice harbour walk anyway!

Yeah! I got Losartan 25 mg. It seems to do the trick; I'll keep monitoring also to prevent it going too low. Bit lower stamina when running, bit more careful getting up, but also seems that the brain fog I've had for the longest time is retreating.

Here's a day's worth from my record - you can see how the overpressure first measures at least 10 points higher in the 1st measure

(Sorry - take the lowest of the 2 remaining). Measurement they did at the GP practice was dangerously high, but we were wise to it - even if I'm calm enough at the GP, my body still goes in high alert. So I was sent home to measure for a week.

I've had the same effect. My nurse gave me the recommendation to take 3 measurements a few minutes apart, disregard the 1st completely, take the highest of the remaining 2. The theory being that simply the act of strapping it on, and the 'oh dear' of it will raise your bp.

I didn't see it until in my 20s (I think) - It didn't have the same effect on me, but those things are so depending on our personal context, I find. What my fave pre-K scifi would be - possibly The Thing from Another World, and Earth vs Flying Saucers - more because of the drama than the scifi.

Today's 6k jog was grey and drab. But took some (culdesac) streets I'd not been on. I couldn't place this building complex at the end of this road (but not reachable) - turned out it's the crumbling pile/senior home at the other side of the (hidden) highway. Brandy sensibly stayed indoors.
