On Women’s Day, wanted to share 2 quotes from Afghan women, in an interview with BBC news.
Arshida: #Books are not just entertainment – they are a means of survival.
Ala: I'm not calling for women to expose their heads, I want #freedom for our souls, minds and spirit.

Women in Afghanistan: Spend a day with those living under Taliban rule
The BBC spends the day with women across Afghanistan to understand what their lives look like under the Taliban government.
![Screenshot of the quoted post from @osamabasil.bsky.social. It reads:
"Life in Gaza has become incredibly challenging due to the ongoing war 💔, and I’m working tirelessly to rebuild everything I’ve lost.
Your donation will help me and my family in the face of hunger, homelessness, and the injustice we are enduring. 😥
Please don't leave us alone 🙏

There are three pictures attached to it.
The first one is a collage. On the left side, a man with short dark hair, wearing a blue suit, over a blue dress shirt, sits in front a Toshiba laptop and stares at the camera. Above it, it reads in a green label: "Before the War". On the right side up, a photograph of the same man, with hair a little overgrown and short beard, wearing a brown coat, and, in the background, a vast arid field covered by tents. On the right side down, a building partially demolished, in which it can be observed, on the sitll standing part, the marks where the destroyed floors used to be. Between the two photos, there is a black label that reads: "After the War".
The second picture is the same man, dressed in a black coat, sat by a table, working in a computer with two screens. Beside him, a white fan.
The third is a selfie of the same man, with hair a little overgrown and short beard, wearing a brown coat, and holding a small baby in blue coat with head covered by a white hood, protecting them from the sun. In the background, by the left, a silver car and, by the right, an arid field covered by tents.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:gzigjfduvjb3zfb4lo4vbfns/bafkreih47dnjyvjqyq46vtalvmf2y5dysb7wh2ldivhosx6h5kb6ypk5iq)
