Brayden looks up from beneath the halo of his hair. “Are you proud of yourself?” he asks snarkily, chest heaving as he catches his breath. “Do you feel like a winner?”

Colt thinks of Tess, of the way she wrapped her long fingers around Brayden’s wrist. He thinks of the fantasies she’s undoubtedly played in her mind, of the way she’d probably kill to be in Colt’s place right now. He thinks of the fact that he knows how ticklish Brayden is, while Tess doesn’t. That he knows what Brayden looks like sprawled out on the bed with his hair tousled. What it’s like to make him laugh, to get to touch him, feel him, kiss him.

Colt does feel like a winner, actually.

“Maybe.” Colt’s gaze lingers on Brayden’s mouth, suddenly hit with the desire to indulge in those secrets he knows. “I do, yeah.”

Brayden’s lips part, the clouds of his eyes darkening. “I could totally turn the tables right now.”

That’s absolutely true. Colt calls his bluff, anyway. “You won’t, though. You like having me like this.”

It’s a bold claim. Brayden takes a shuddering inhale, lashes curtaining over rosy skin. “Check that ego, Colton,” he says lowly. “Or I’ll have to do it for you one of these days.”
