I learned in school that inflation was a supply imbalance: too many $ chasing too few goods. So raising interest rates is a way to cut borrowing and the money supply. But today's high prices are caused by greed. Profits are up and wages down. Raising rates just make $ cost more, so more inflation.

One fix for housing is to not allow financial institutions to sell mortgages for each state differently from each other. "Blue" states subsidize "Red" states with irrationally high home values. There is no economic rationale for homes in Oregon to run 2-3 times the cost of like homes in Ohio.

Newberg, OR held a vigil tonight for Alex Pretti at our downtown flag pole park. We estimate about 100 folks stood with candles in freezing temps to honor him and Rene Good. Rep. Andrea Salinas and other leaders spoke and rallied us to continue the fight for our rights. We will! Yes, we will!
