What the hell is going on??? *sigh* As a fellow Illinoisan, I want to express thanks for your services to the United States and your integrity. I've leaned more Democrat because of the increasing nuttiness of the right, but I really think we need a strong 3rd party: "Critical Thinking Party"

There's room at the top they are telling you still But first you must learn how to smile as you kill If you want to be like the folks on the hill A working class hero is something to be A working class hero is something to be --John Lennon, "Working Class Hero" #resist We need a working class hero.

I'm going to put up an American Flag outside my house for the first time ever. And beside it on either side, a Ukranian Flag and a Canadian Flag as protest. I bought a Canadian made flag, not a US made one. #Resist

From the NYTimes today. (With my own annotation) #resistance

A quote from Harrison Fields in the NYTimes asserting everything the trump administration does is lawful. The word “Nazi” was written by the poster on top of the quote.

This album was 15 years old when I became obsessed with it at around 10 years old. I can't believe it's nearly 60 years old. With a minor exception of the song "The Word" this album holds up today beautifully as a dead classic. I like "The Word", but it's the one track to me that screams 1960's.

Sometimes, you just need to stop and say thanks to an author of a piece that just hits the mark. Thanks @rdewald.bsky.social for your latest "Richards Rants". open.substack.com/pub/rdewald/... CC: @sodazen.bsky.social

@annieduke.com’s book “thinking in bets” is a game changer. It’s one of those books that enlightens you while filling in the gaps in your life’s experiences and makes sense of it all. It’s a great read and re-read.

I was just thinking that this place is feeling like it could be a bit more balanced and sane like the United States used to be. I disagree with you on a lot of your policies, but you are a freaking solid person and someone I’m glad to accept our differences with.

If you serve on a jury and you truly follow the rules, guidance, and spirit of our judicial system…don’t give up even if you are the only one against a verdict. Don’t give up. Get a message to the judge for help. Don’t give up!

Just my 2 cents. But my goal is to ignore the trolls. Give them zero attention. Block them if they annoy me. I think the worst thing we can do on this site is re-create the ad hominem/ personal attacks that occur across comments on Twitter/insta/tiktok/ etc
