I just noticed that my name got mentioned in a paper in arxiv: Distributed Computing From First Principles arxiv.org/abs/2506.12959 ... The author of the paper is a friend. But, I didn't know he wrote that paper. And, didn't know that he mentioned me.

I want to thank Anselm Eickhoff and Charles Krempeaux, who were responsive to my questions about CRDT. Also, I would also like to thank Harrington Joseph, who suggested that I focus on gaining a low-level understanding of parallel programming. I just read about a blind person vibe-coding a new email client for Windows. Not linking because I don't want people to pile onto this person, who is a respected member of the blind community and long-time accessibility advocate, though not a professional programmer as far as I know. Instead, I want to point out how badly the commercial software industry, particularly Microsoft in this case, has failed us such that an individual feels the need to do this. Don't know what to do instead though.

7.3 Update Activity

For server to server interactions, an Update activity means that the receiving server SHOULD update its copy of the object of the same id to the copy supplied in the Update activity. Unlike the client to server handling of the Update activity, this is not a partial update but a complete replacement of the object.

The receiving server MUST take care to be sure that the Update is authorized to modify its object. At minimum, this may be done by ensuring that the Update and its object are of same origin.

Koho Financial Inc. has received access to Interac Corp.’s IFC-T payments services as the online challenger moves toward joining Canada’s federally regulated banking system.

The Toronto-based company said Tuesday it has been approved to use Interac’s e-Transfer service, which gives Koho more control over the cost and speed of transfers and payments. Ottawa has put a focus on increasing competition in Canadian banking and Interac has been broadening access to its payments network to include financial technology companies, which is used by nearly every bank in Canada.
