Which is fine if that child is mentally and emotionally able to handle that responsibility; we need to realize that a lot of them deserve to be given more credit and responsibility than they often get, but there are definitely those who cannot take on such responsibility effectively and safely.

I suspect this statistic may intertwine with the fact that the United States has one of the highest rates of child fatalities due to abuse and neglect among industrialized, high-income nations. Stats never stand alone and are part of a complex web of reasons, repercussions, reactions, and results.

Did you know that Newfoundland high-rise construction workers (known to Americans as "the Fish") and Iroquois Canadians helped build the World Trade Center, and Canadian emergency crews immediately went to New York to help at Ground Zero? The intertwined relationship between Canada and the US.

The relationship of Canada & USA is so intertwined. We know Newfoundland & Labrador & Gander responded to 9/11 but did you know that crews of construction workers from Newfoundland called the "Fish") helped build the World Trade Center & Canadians helped at ground zero? Neighbours help neighbours.
