Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 23/09/2026Time to add “holding my needy cat who will only sit on me at my desk if her butt is supported” to the examples! 000
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 15/09/2026I’m admittedly “new” to the world of paying property tax (directly, I know renters indirectly pay it too), but from what I can tell, Toronto’s is incomparable to many cities because it is so much lower than most other cities. Especially when you think how much we get in return vs other cities/towns. 000
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 15/09/2026Bradford Bradford with the brilliant TTC improvement strategy of adding more uniformed police to *checks notes* reduce delays? Unless his plan is to get every streetcar a police escort I don’t see the connection. 110
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 04/05/2026(Yes I have been tricked by yet another product promising just a little bit of sweetness in addition to fruit juice, why do you ask?). 000
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 04/05/2026If I ever run for public office, my platform will be all your usual socialist nonsense but my banner issue will be officially naming stevia an artificial sweetener and enforcing labelling rules that make it super obvious when products have it. 100
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 26/04/2026I don’t agree with the ONDP on everything but I do think they offer the clearest alternative. Ontario sadly needs to get over the ghost of Bob Rae, confusing how one well-meaning NDP premier somehow ruins things when we’ve had neverending bad Liberal and Conservative ones. 000
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 26/04/2026Realizing Ontario has no electoral recall law really explains the behaviour of our elected officials. Really easy to ignore your constituents when there is no way for them to hold you to account between elections. 151
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 20/03/2026The 2026 equivalent of moving an image slightly in a word document and destroying the formatting is asking an AI tool to make a small adjustment to the thing it just did. “You liked the design I just made but want to add a button over here? Here’s a whole new design.” *in the distance, sirens* 010

Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 04/07/2025Note for my library peeps: I know ADE is still required for a lot of library lending, but please stop using ADE to read, there are so many amazing options out there, I promise EPUB is actually really great and renders beautifully in the places that care about it. 010
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 04/07/2025I can say this now because I don't "work" in publishing anymore, or for a reading system. If you're basing your opinion of EPUB3 on how it works in ADE, please stop. "EPUB3 isn't well supported", it is in every reading system being actively maintained, ADE is dead, please stop using it!!! 121

Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 10/06/2025Is there going to be information on the UI appearance when different accessibility settings are turned on? Like reduce transparency, increase contrast? 000
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 10/06/2025I would imagine that the existing accessibility menu features for reduce transparency and increase contrast will resolve a lot of issues (even if it just makes things opaque/flat), but I really wish they had shown that they’d considered those use cases in the design. 121
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 10/06/2025I fear the Apple OS glass effect’s inaccessibility will be justified by the fact that iOS has accessibility features that reduce transparency and increase contrast, which of course don’t get mentioned in this announcement or any coverage I’ve seen so far. Such a missed opportunity. 000
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 30/04/2025I’ve been waking up earlier lately and eating before taking meds (vyvanse) because I struggled eating after taking them. The extra time means I can usually make something nice like eggs and toast, which has helped! My other go to is a smoothie with protein powder and fruit. 010
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 21/04/2025New favourite election ad might be the conservative one featuring two older gentlemen playing golf, talking about how hard it is for their kids, so obviously they need to vote conservative. Feels like a redundant ad considering “middle-aged man playing golf” is like their key demographic. 000
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 25/03/2025With the EAA deadline weeks away and many non-EU businesses failing to realize they are probably obligated to comply, I know this is going to bite them. It sucks that it’s not the morality that will motivate them to change course. 010

Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 30/01/2025A thing they don’t warn you about when you get into accessibility is how often you are going to get asked about accessibility legislation, and be expected to answer intelligently. Starting to think I may qualify for an honorary law degree. 010
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 29/01/2025I don’t even understand how they don’t have the right address considering I have updated my drivers license, health card, etc in the last 2 years. I forgot the provincial ministry of finance existed, how would I even check my address 😂. 100
Wendy Reid @reidmore.bsky.social · 29/01/2025For my fellow Ontarians, just a funny FYI that if you haven’t yet received your Doug Ford bribe check in the mail (because we are still mailing checks in 2025), its possible they sent it to the wrong address.
