I want to believe people can be good and I want to believe people can change, it's practically in my DNA and I feel the need to believe it all the time, but I just don't. I've been hurt and burned too many times and I don't think I have the capacity to trust the average person like that anymore.

Of course then there's the alternative of setting extra buttons on some pads or combo buttons the game doesn't use by default to target specific party members. But I also know that can be a pain as opposed to just picking up a mouse.

Might not be what you'd personally want but steam controller or a PS4/5 pad can be configured for steam input to send the mouse to a particular region of your screen. A lot of people use it for strategy games to click the minimap, but you could do it for your party list!

I'm so glad I sat and mashed the checkout button for 30 minutes. I'd be heartbroken if after all this waiting I couldn't get a steam controller for who knows how long. Steam desperately needs to fix their process for hardware releases, it's such a silly system.

It's a steep learning curve for a week but once it started to click I couldn't go back. The only thing I dislike is how many times I have to mash up/down for healer targeting, but I'm even used to that now. Give it a try when evolved jobs come around, it's very cosy once you're comfortable.
