I did but what a website like this is worth is a pretty complicated question. Instead I opted to open-source the pieces of it that were useful and step aside to leave space for a new idea.

After years of helping organize, scout, and refine together - it's time to power down the rigs. Regolith Co. has been an incredible journey, and it was built entirely out of love for the community. Thank you to every miner who joined us. You made this worth building. #StarCitizen #SpaceMining

That’s a very kind offer, thank you. I had a kofi page but I turned it off. I’ve got enough budget to coast the site to shutdown so I’ll only accept support in emotional, moral and spiritual currencies until further notice 😀

We're sorry to announce that Regolith will be shutting down permanently. The site will stay online until June 1, 2026, but there won’t be any more updates going forward. Full details including why/when/how here: docs.regolith.rocks/blog/2026/03... #StarCitizen #SpaceMining

Thanks. I think it’s probably safest to stick with the plain backgrounds for now but I’ll let you know when I’m ready to scale it up.

020

Regolith Co. @regolith.rocks · 25/12/2025

Thanks! I may take you up on that. There is some question about using SC screenshots as art in a third-party app. I've toyed with the idea of doing a competition or something and getting submissions. Maybe down the road. For now I've got some simple CSS trickery until I find something better.

I have decided to remove all AI-generated graphics from Regolith, mainly for ethical reasons. If anyone is interested in the "why" of it all I wrote a blog post about it docs.regolith.rocks/blog/2025/12...

AI, where art thou? | Regolith Docs

Regolith will no longer use AI-generated images due to ethical, environmental, and moral concerns about the technology.

Regolith 1.4.5: 🎄 OCR in the browser and SC 4.5 support This is kind of a massive release: - OCR now works in-browser - FIX: work orders > 2 billion aUEC causing errors - Refinery bonuses now pull from UEX have been updated to 4.5. - Performance improvements across the board.

021

Regolith Co. @regolith.rocks · 20/12/2025

Heads-up: 4.5 changed a lot and our systems are taking time to catch up. It's also a good chance to tackle some systemic issues that cropped up (like work orders that break when they get bigger than 2 Billion aUEC). Thanks for your patience while we sort all this out.

010

Regolith Co. @regolith.rocks · 16/12/2025

Yeah. the moral case against it is definitely stronger than for it I think. I’ve got some thoughts that will need long form and nuance. Nuance in 2025… Don’t see how that could go wrong… I’ll leave these up as part of the conversation for now.

120

Regolith Co. @regolith.rocks · 16/12/2025

I totally respect that. Just imagine if it were trained consensually and if every time you used it somewhere a penguin didn’t catch fire…. <sigh> Strange times.

110

Regolith Co. @regolith.rocks · 16/12/2025

It absolutely could.... and probably should. For now I'm using it for giggles and backgrounds but I not in the foreground or anything commercial. That's just the arbitrary, ever-evolving line I'm drawing. Do have your own line?

That's because we HIDE it because..... it's a treasure hunt? Admittedly it needs to be a bit more front-and-center. I will look into that.

You can find these calculations in two places: 1. On the Survey Corps Rock Type table. Look for the signal filter and enter your signal strength there to see which tock types match your signal 2. Inside the mining session on the Scouting header. #StarCitizen #SpaceMining

Regolith: 1.3.3 - Org. Allegiances! Choose a Discord org allegiance in the Survey Corps. Orgs can compete to see who can scan the most rocks. Also: Org lock on sessions is re-enabled. You should once again be able to lock your sessions to only members of a Discord Server. #StarCitizen #SpaceMining
