tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 25/09/2026I’ve been thinking a lot about files and file types lately. Before the internet, files made it easier to own and move your data. Creating new, open, portable, nonproprietary file types feels like a lost art now. Our data lives in proprietary databases because companies want to gatekeep it. 041
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 25/09/2026I invented a new file type called .webcard for saving social cards and links. • Native macOS • Dynamic file icons • Quick Look previews • Open .webcard files • .webloc as a fallback reggi.github.io/webcard/reggi.github.ioWebcard for macOSSave the web cards worth keeping as portable files on your Mac. 030

tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 21/09/2026I'm building an operating system 🤣. (it's a electron file browser) After a weekend of setting up proxmox and NAS hardware. I'm convinced there's a GAP. tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 20/09/2026so let me get this straight google fi i have a protection plan for a broken phone i cant use ✅ if i filed the claim day of i could have replaced my phone then upgraded ✅ i paid extra and get NOTHING ✅ how is any of this legal??? 011
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 20/09/2026The worst part is the google fi bills didn't have a clear line item for 2 device protection plans at once, but here's the diff. It was vague on the bill "phone subscription" up until very recently.... when google fi changed it. 110
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 20/09/2026GOOGLE FI 🤬 I broke my pixel 5a in march of 2025 I had an "upgrade" so I did not knowing i still had a protection plan, I've paid over $100 since. The best they can do is $24 refund. Before canceling I tried to make a claim phone so i have a backup. It was not approved... 110

tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 06/09/2026Because its factor based, it scales automatically when you change the number range and column width and it changes the whole composition because all the notes shift. 010

tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 05/09/2026Cast and crew reactions give the clips convenient closure. The take ends, people laugh or celebrate, cut. It's a believable reason for an otherwise arbitrary 5–10 second piece of generated video to end exactly where it does. 020
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 05/09/2026"Behind the scenes" gives inconsistencies somewhere to hide. Objects shift, framing is weird, positions don't quite track, something just feels off. In a finished movie shot those continuity errors stand out. In supposedly candid, unfinished footage, we expect less precision. 120
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 05/09/2026The action happens in tiny, self-contained bursts. Someone walks onto set. An actor breaks character. A prop moves. Someone says cut. The clip ends before the model has to maintain physical and temporal consistency for very long. 120
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 05/09/2026Most people aren't great at recognizing the technical age of video. Grain, aspect ratio, color, noise, compression, camera movement, etc. all carry clues about when and how footage was made. Get enough of those vaguely right and "old footage" can feel right without actually being right. 120
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 05/09/2026Familiar subject, unseen perspective. You already know the movie, actors, sets, characters, etc. The AI only has to invent a new camera angle around something your brain already accepts as real. That familiarity does a lot of the work. 120
tea 🌸 @reggi.com · 05/09/2026Why are these AI "behind the scenes" videos so effective at fooling people and going viral? I think this specific format exploits a bunch of weaknesses in how we judge whether footage is real. A few things I've noticed, in the replies: 132
