Today, Dec. 6, marks one year since our library's namesake — Gaza's Storyteller — the Palestinian academic and poet Dr. Refaat Alareer, was assassinated in an Israeli airstrike in Gaza. How will you honor his legacy?

A tribute poster for Refaat Alareer, showing a man with a beard in a suit holding a crate of strawberries. Text honors him as a storyteller and poet from Gaza who was assassinated by Israel on Dec. 6,
2023. Red poppy flowers decorate the border, as do strawberries in honor of Gaza City, where Alareer was born.
