Yes, that’s a PC. 16 KB of RAM, all anyone really needs :-), and also my introduction to the BASIC programming language. My first program was something like: 100 PRINT HELLO! 200 GOTO 100 300 END Such magic transpired that turned these arcane glyphs into something new and beautiful and infinite!

I’m just excited to see that the Les Enfants Terribles project was real and have confirmation that it was first used to clone Che Guevara. It finally explains why he got twice as much merch as any other revolutionaries, including Washington.

What appears to be dual clones of Che Guevara wait in line to debate Charlie Kirk. Clearly these men were cloned by the United States government to sell twice as many T-Shirts.

A fundraising mailing from Franklin Graham’s Samaritan’s purse, where Samaritan’s Purse encourages its supporters to “Start Packing!” Christmas presents for poor kids in countries like Venezuela.

The irony of “Get Packing!” when Graham’s favorite President boasts about kicking Venezuelans and other immigrants out of the country and sending them to places like CECOT without due process or even the accusation of a crime is not lost on me.

Venezuelans receiving help and hope? Not around here! You must be mistaking Venezuelans for white South Africans, Mr. Graham.

For many, I don’t buy it. Because: 1. A lot of things are legal that they don’t want to be legal. Asylum seekers, refugees, TPS, etc. 2. This administration canceled as many of those as possible. Our refugee acceptance dropped by 99% in 2025, and now the vast majority are white South Africans. 2/

The number of refugees admitted to the US dropped sharply in 2025.

Perhaps it’s no wonder that the cult classic is finally getting a remake these days. Haven’t played much yet, but I hope it’s good! From what little I played of the demo, it seems like it simplified the controls a lot and sanded off the rough edges but seems to keep the whimsy.

Let’s talk sound. LBA had a gorgeous OST by Philippe Vachey with CD-quality sound. And you knew it was CD quality because you could play it in most CD players via the game disc. And, rare for that time, it had voice acting, which really helped the quirky characters come through.

Twinsen got caught by the guards… again. Oh well, time for a prison break!

Add all this to a fantastical world with a planet with twin suns and an ice wall equator, populated by quetches (humans), rabbibunnies sentient rabbit people), grobos (elephant people), and more, all rendered with some of the simplest, most appealing, low-poly 3D models ever made.

It did that all with a unique sense of whimsey & humor, reminiscent of the best of the then-popular but dying adventure game genre. Need access to a certain book at the library? Well, a guy there has been complaining about the water quality, so maybe we can taint it with cough syrup to improve it!

Twinsen poisons the water supply… uh… with cough syrup, though, so not actually poison. To be fair, this was very irresponsible and could have ended very badly. Fortunate, it instead just made the water taste better, and no one complained or died.

LBA (1994) came at a unique and awkward time in the transition between games becoming 3D. It did a lot of the tricks that blew our minds when FF7 (1997) came around, but did so three years earlier. ✅ Polygonal characters on pre-rendered backgrounds ✅ Cool CGI cutscenes ✅ Blow up evil tech centers
