Storyline was difficult to follow, ending was a damp squib & it was one hour long then home time 🤷‍♀️ 🩰

The fabulous #Cats at #regentsparkopenairtheatre on Wednesday night. It's a tradition for us to go on the very last week of performances when hopefully it's a bit cooler but still dry. Brilliant production with a few surprises & outstanding choreography. What an incredible group of talented dancers.

Went to see #QueenElizabeth's wardrobe at the #KingsGallery for the 2nd time. Had a closer look at the clothes from her childhood, teens and twenties as that part of the exhibition was too hot & crowded back in May. Took an audio guide this time which gave a different experience.

To @nationaltheatre.org.uk on Wednesday night for the fabulous ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ new musical #Pride based on the feelgood film of the same name. Very funny but also sad and moving, it's one of the best new musicals I've ever seen and it's transferring to @bridgetheatre.bsky.social soon 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿🏳️‍🌈🎶 🎵 Go and see it!

Just made it to Marilyn Monroe: A Portrait at the National Portrait Gallery before it closed 😅 It was themed around the photographers she worked with, rather than being a chronological history of her life, with some artistic interpretations of her image thrown in. Very well done as usual by the NPG.

#TrainspottingTheMusical at Theatre Royal Haymarket. Some things worked, some didn't & perhaps this would have been better as a play (or a musical with even more of the original 90s music rather than the new music). Perhaps not everything should be made into a musical. But an appreciative audience.

#BalletCentral is the touring company of #CentralSchoolOfBallet graduating year, giving students that 'professional performance' experience before they graduate. The London dates at the #BrittenTheatre at #RoyalCollegeOfMusic were the final nights of this year's tour. Very, very impressive! 👏🩰

On Monday this cat lover 🐈 finally got to see Hodge the cathedral cat @southwarkcathedral.bsky.social after he made a guest appearance during Kristina Easter's lunchtime recital. Hodge enjoyed a brief snooze on the cool steps during the performance before strolling off on another adventure 🎶 🎵

Celebrations have taken over #CoventGardenMarket with beautiful displays in flowers, paper & ballet shoes 🩰

Went to see the wardrobe of #QueenElizabeth up close at the #KingsGallery. So many pieces are stunning works of art. From hats, shoes & bags to coats, evening dresses, scarves & jewellery. A beautifully curated exhibition so popular they had to extend it for another 6 months. Going back again!

To #LondonPalladium on Friday night for #BigLive #Dracula. Enjoyed the #ballet but at same time found it incredibly hammy and clichéd. There were a few points where the audience was laughing & I'm not sure it was supposed to be funny. It was a bit 'Disney does Dracula' perhaps. But glad I saw it!

Another new theatre for us on Wednesday night, #KilnTheatre in #Kilburn. We saw #PleasePleaseMe about #TheBeatles manager #BrianEpstein and his struggles with his sexuality and loneliness. Great play but no #Beatles music allowed although very similar beats crept in. Will be back!

The recently unveiled #BazalgetteEmbankment on the north bank of the #Thames by Blackfriars Station, built on top of the new Thames Tideway #supersewer. The black monoliths may look like public art (we thought!) but are actually ventilation columns. Every day's a school day.
