I get so weird about promoting my music, but I'll promote the hell out of other people's. I'm just bad at that, but trying to get better. redwolfaudio.bandcamp.com youtube.com/@redwolfaudi...

So I'm kind of musically all over the place. I write everything from classical to hard rock. I've played jazz. I've played gospel. I was in musicals and show choirs. Any of my musical friends out there in the same boat?

I've reached the age where I'm not sure if I'm sore from the gym or from "sleeping wrong". Like, how the hell do you SLEEP WRONG?!?!

I missed Bandcamp Friday, but I do HAVE a Bandcamp, so if you're interested in a small artist making 90s and 2000s hard rock, look no further than: redwolfaudio.bandcamp.com

So my kid is a really talented drummer. He's got a great ear and solid timing. I just need to figure out how to get him to PRACTICE. Open to ideas!

Another downside of automating social media posts is that it's really hard to respond to comments across all the platforms. I'm really sorry if I don't see your replies! I appreciate you!

The downside of automating social media posts is, if you make a typo, it's spread all over the internet.

Question for engineers and computer nerds (of which I am one): Do you unplug your equipment when there's lightning in your area, or am I just going overboard and being paranoid?

This past Monday, the community showed up to Omaha Public School's board meeting in protest of shock gloves being deployed by SROs in schools. On Tuesday the superintendent issued a statement that those gloves would not be allowed to be used. This is what happens when we show up. Keep showing up.

Let me be completely clear: While AI "music" is soundwaves organized in a way that it emulates actual music, it is not art. And those who prompt AI systems to generate said "music" are not artists.

I've decided to make my posts a potent combination of nerdy and unhinged. Good luck, everybody.

I've been seeing more posts from producers that are supportive of small creators using whatever gear they have available and it makes me very happy.

Took a couple of days off to hang out with my son before he heads back to school. Best use of PTO days ever.

Back to school means it's tough to get into the studio. Waiting for the dust to settle so I can get back in there.

The more audio engineering I do, the less I adjust EQ when just listening to music. I want to hear songs the way the mixing and mastering engineers intended.

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 08/08/2026

To my fellow musicians/artists/producers: Do you have a love/hate relationship with social media? I'm out here loving engagement but hating click-bait. (And yes, I get the irony of me posting this.)

Ozomatli's Embrace the Chaos is just hitting right now. Damn...

I'm looking for recommendations on some of the best recordings you've ever heard. Genre doesn't matter. Hit me.

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 07/08/2026

Ozomatli's "Timido", aside from just being an incredible song, is one of my absolute favorite recordings. Everything is pristine and crystal clear. Listen on good speakers or headphones. It never disappoints.

A question I've been wrestling with lately, and I'm interested in your thoughts: Is there a place in society for AI? I'll always be completely against it for the arts, but is there a positive use for it?

000

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 06/08/2026

When it rains, it pours. I have two rocks projects, some EDM writing, mixing, and mastering, and songs to write. Now I need more time...

It's School of Rock time again with my son. I'm listening to a band rehearse Funkytown. The kids are all right.

It's social media night! I'm stuck at 179 followers over on Thr3ads, so if you're over there, please hit me with a follow!

I understand they use proprietary file formats, but it would be really cool if I could explore effects chains from REAPER and import them into Cantabile.

000

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 31/07/2026

I've gone from zero projects to like 6 in just a few weeks. When it rains, man...

010

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

I wonder if my opinions on AI will bring out the tech bros.

000

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 30/07/2026

So streaming has been really tough to do lately. The studio has a LOT going on right now that I can't stream, which is both really cool and not at all at the same time. I've been collecting some ideas for videos, though.

010

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

It isn't the "end product" that makes it art. It is the process of creating. So no, crap generated by AI is not art. Art is not a commodity to be "generated", but an art to be done, by humans, for humans. Anything less simply does not qualify.

000

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Be it visual art, performance art, music, writing, or any other art, in order to be called "art", it must have been physically performed by a human in some fashion. The ACT of dancing, singing, acting, writing, playing, is what makes it art.

100

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

Their opinion (I wish I'd saved the post) was, essentially, that art exists in a physical space. Without that physical expression, there is no art. I agree with that, but I want to take it a step further. To me, art requires a human performance in a physical space.

100

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 29/07/2026

I think about AI in the arts a lot. Like, a whole lot. And I ran into a post recently that expressed a perspective on why AI slop is not art that I want to expand on.

100

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

I think a lot about the intersection of music and politics. All music, especially modern American popular music, is political, whether the artist intends it or not.

000

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 25/07/2026

I feel like being "politically neutral" as a musician is a super privileged position to take, especially right now. A lot of artists don't have the luxury, and those of us who do owe it to them to take a stand.

010

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 24/07/2026

I started playing Minecraft with my kid again and now I'm going to have to quit my job because it's all I want to do now.

Worked on mixing it last night. Should be done today!

110

I have an almost-finished song that I really need someone to tell me to release.

110

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

As I dig into Cantabile, I think I'm going to do some videos on it. I feel like it's a relatively unknown gem for live and stream performance.

010

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 23/07/2026

To my fellow musicians: Have any of you used Cantabile for live performance before? I just installed it and am kind of in love with it.

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 22/07/2026

I've got 30 minutes to say something interesting and I'm drawing a blank.

Listening to my kid during his drum lesson makes me so damn proud.

020

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

Audio engineers... is your studio a ridiculous mess like mine, or are you weird and keep it clean?

010

RedWolfAudio @redwolfaudio.bsky.social · 18/07/2026

When I collaborate with other artists, I kind of self-NDA, because I never know what they want to share or when. Just a rule I have for myself. But I have SO MANY great collaborations happening right now. SO. MANY.
