Democrats were cheering when California decided to redraw the district maps to reduce Republican representation and they cheered when Virginia did it, before the courts said they couldn’t. There are ways to redraw congressional districts that wouldn’t favor any party but Democrats aren’t interested

“To promote the general welfare” means that the federal government should act in the best interest of all citizens and the nation as a whole, rather than just for specific individuals, regions, or factions. It’s not a guarantee that the US will provide services to the people.

Racially insensitive and racism are not the same thing. Pushing policies that promote racial discrimination is racist. Making arguments that simply tasks like showing a valid state ID is difficult for blck people compared to white people suggests that blck people are inferior to white people(racism)

Democrats and the left are only complaining about gerrymandering when the Republicans do it. If people really didn’t want there to be any gerrymandering, they could easily have the districts redrawn by computers without any demographic information about party affiliation, race, ethnicity or gender
