Likable villains can make a show. I would have had Nus Va attack the school via student infiltrators, the final reveal he has his own pirate School who's student will compete against Federation attempt to colonize. This would gel with all teen ship trust issues. Drama city.

They really screwed the pooch on the Villains. They have good motives , anti Starfleet prejudice. Opposite value. I would have dropped all the GiAmetti hamming, for cunning and menace. ( Think smamllville lex luthor. Not hammy SG LL. )

Even a bland Seinfeld set about orbiting corpses would be interesting. I don't think their heart is in it for the class based humor. There's nobody relatable. The gallows humor is defanged. But quickly I felt like I don't care if these ppl die, nobody on earth does either.

This isnt hitting for me. Sets are great. Love house. But I'm not laughing. Maybe it's being sick. But one exp they set up a comedian to do a set, with 1000 lowhanging jokes available. The only joke was he bombed. The show is a Comedy, making deliberate anti humor choices to be unfunny !
