Starting out of college I had many jobs to help get my feet on the ground, one was when I worked with @katedemske.bsky.social at Republic Design, a metal shop in Cincinnati in the late 90’s. Kate now has her own smithing studio, Solid Ground Studio where she forges her own creations.

I spoke with @gehrisch-arts.com on her podcast @originsofcreativitypodcast.com “Find out what it takes to keep showing up as a professional artist” I think a lot of it is just showing up everyday with goals and determination that can help drown out the voices of doubt.

An exercise I used as an ice breaker for the Design International workshop at the UQAM School of Design in Montreal. We each got a black piece of paper and tore it into random shapes. Then in short blocks of time, we were to arrange the shapes into a character.
