@ilhanmn.bsky.social Hello from Texas - just wanted to say I just made a contribution to your campaign. Good on you trying to punch that guy who assaulted you - I wish John Cornyn had an ounce of your grit. Keep it up!

Todays “baking” adventure, tried my hand at making a German classic - “Kalter Hund”, or Cold Dog.

@cnn.com your proliferation of paywalls after Trump took office is nothing short of profiteering.

Been attending a music school here in Austin to smooth out my tempo and work on musicality. This is from our past December recital - Folie d'Espagne Variee on an Altzither - youtu.be/DIXbKjIlJiw

Went for a ride down Southern Walnut Creek Trail and hopped over to Town Lake Trail. Got a pretty good snapshot of the City Skyline. Looking forward to doing this again once everything is alive and growing. #cycling #atx

First batch of Pfeffernüsse complete. As soon as the Back Oblaten arrives I can get a start on the Lebkuchen. Starting to smell like the Holidays in here. #baking

Y‘all… Wicked was amazing. Cynthia Erivos handling of Elphaba was just beyond spectacular. I am not thrilled that Hollywood decided it should be a two parter, but I’ll be there with bells on to see the rest.

Hey there. Speaking from experience, future-self is not going to be thrilled with past-self when you have to decipher what younger less experienced you was actually thinking.

First frost of the year in my little corner of Austin. Hoping the Blackberry canes will get the message and hibernate already. I feel like I’ve been pinching laterals off laterals for the last few months. Looking forward to first harvest next year. 🌱

It’s a strange feeling to see your own name in the discover feed. Hi Andrew, I’m Andy (only Andrew when moms mad). I’m a Video Game Programmer in Austin TX. Just had to say hey to another member of the collective 😂

A few late pictures from my visit back home. I love New England in the fall.

Blackberry canes are near the end of their first season. I really didn’t think they were going to grow as much as they have. Each plant has two primocanes and each primocane has two lateral branches. I keep tipping more branches on the laterals every week. 🌱

The blackberry canes have reached the first trellis wire. The unexpected berry from the original cane is starting to look like a real berry. 🌱

Andy Gillis @redemus.com · 10/05/2024

Caterpillars have invaded the blackberry canes and are making Swiss cheese of the leaves. One of them ate my first budding berry! This… will not stand… 🪖

Andy Gillis @redemus.com · 08/05/2024

The blackberry canes I put into the raised bed have already begun to flower and shoot out new canes. Might see a few berries in the next few weeks, unexpected! 🌱

Little late on the uptake, still not great at the social medias. 🫠 But our Zither Concert in Hanau had 200 people in the audience, and we were in the German Newspaper. 🎶

Haus Anna an der Stadtmauer in Hanau has the most beautiful garden. I think our back yard needs a tower... 🤔

At Austin Bergstrom waiting for my flight to Frankfurt. Zither Workshops start next Wednesday. Really wish I had a bit more time before the concert to practice this music but it’s gonna have to be good enough. 🎶🤞🏻

Thanks! (Sorry late reply, I’m bad at this 😂). I’m really excited to see how it works out. To be honest I had wanted to plant Raspberries but from what I’ve read they have an awful time growing in the Texas heat.

Andy Gillis @redemus.com · 10/03/2024

Very nice! I’ve never grown cucumbers, will they climb the trellis? I always pictured them growing on the ground like squash.

000

Andy Gillis @redemus.com · 09/03/2024

Finished building the trellis into the raised bed this afternoon. Only thing left to do is to let the blackberries grow. 🌱

The raised beds have finally been installed in the back yard and the first blackberry canes have been planted. Next weekend I’ll assemble the trellis, but they won’t really need it for a little while. 🌱

Sometime in late December / Early January I cut a pretty mature shoot off my snake plant and put it into a pot expecting it to root. In the process, it grew a shoot out the center that has budded! Never seen this before, I can't wait for it to bloom. 🌱

“So I think a lot of people think about 2023 as this incredible year for gaming.” - Said absolutely no one working in gaming. XBox Business Update is awfully short on details about exclusivity changes and overly full with meaningless catch phrases. www.youtube.com/watch?v=KGlD...

This year in April I am traveling to Hanau-Steinheim in Germany to participate in the International Zither Gathering. The participants will be performing in a concert at the end. My morning coffee time has turned into practice time - only seven weeks left to learn my parts. ☕🎶
