Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 02/03/2026I hear you. There is a website that combines several critical and audience ratings in one, quite useful. I haven't regretted any blind buy based on that rating. flickmetrix.comflickmetrix.comFlickmetrix - The Best Movies On NetflixFlickMetrix combines critic and user ratings to generate a list of the top rated movies on Netflix and other streaming providers. 030
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 02/03/2026There are not that many GREAT movies. Maybe 500 or 1000. Streaming services have long tail of thousands of mediocre or terrible ones, and very few great ones. Its just better to buy them in blu ray. 140
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 13/07/2025The Tree of Life is one of my favorite films ever. It's such a unique masterpiece. 120
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 13/07/2025it's a masterpiece. I dont know of a movie that depicts childhood in such an impressionistic manner, among other things 000
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 25/03/2025The best part is that he had to spell out the punch line. Most of his audience wouldn't even understand the joke without it... 0481
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 03/03/2025Parasite is a much more original movie. Once upon a time is ok but it seems a mix of previous movies & characters, not that original or interesting. 110
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 03/03/2025Classy way to cut the Oscars stream to millions of people, with an error code 020
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 28/02/2025Zelensky can't believe he's in a war for years with thousands of people dying and in the White House they're wasting time asking such stupid questions and making jokes. It's life or death for Ukrainians! 020
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 05/02/2025I like brown rice. Unlike white rice, it has some texture, fiber... White rice is essentially sugar. 010
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 22/01/2025I canceled Netflix last year. Very little quality content. With YouTube, Prime Video and blu rays you can access and own much better movies 010
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 18/01/2025There has to be a big correction at some point this year, many stocks are overvalued. Tesla is mispriced, PE ratio of over a 100 and the company actually has shrinking sales... 020
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 18/01/2025I don't think his films are intellectual. They're pretty standard narrative movies, well executed, but always with some kind of twist (time, space, memory, Dreams, etc.). I find all his movies interesting and worth watching. Not masterpieces but solid. 260

Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 06/01/2025Of course it works. The question is how much should the fee be for a specific level of traffic desired 020
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 02/01/2025Just watched it and it's a fantastic movie, epic tale of revenge. One of my favorites in 2024 010
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 01/01/2025Feliz An̈o Guillermo! Y que salgan todas tus peliculas en 4k en Criterion! 020
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 25/12/2024Fantastic thread, congrats on finding all the videos as illustrative examples. Happy Holidays! 020
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 16/12/2024Filmmaker mode is set automatically in some TVs by the content provider (streaming or disc player). The viewer does not have to do anything. It works well in dark rooms but it's not bright enough for bright rooms 010
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 29/11/2024The standard dental insurance that you get when you have a job covers 2 cleanings per year. I have lived in US, Asia and Europe, and the worst dental care I received is in Europe. Hence why Europeans have worse teeth 100
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 29/11/2024I lived in Europe for many years. Most Europeans do not get 2+ free professional teeth cleaning at the dentist every year 100
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 29/11/2024Professional dentist cleaning. Not just a visit to the dentist. 100
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 28/11/2024Yes, the standard in the US is at least two free professional dental cleaning sessions per year. I didn't get those when living in Europe. Over many years it makes a difference in dental health 010
Ray @redamon.bsky.social · 28/11/2024Americans get professional teeth cleaning every few months. That's not the case in Europe, not sure why 110
