25TH ANNIVERSARY Bubba Sparxxx - Dark Days, Bright Nights (2001) Favourite Track: Lovely Whilst Bubba is no match for the lyrical dexterity of Eminem, his flow is pretty good and the tales he weaves are entertaining as he leans into his Southern drawl. #BubbaSparxxx #DarkDaysBrightNights

45TH ANNIVERSARY Mike Love - Looking Back With Love (1981) Favourite Track: Paradise Found Love's solo album does have some highlights ('Paradise Found' has Hall & Oates levels of catchiness and Mike's cover of Abba's 'On and On and On' is good fun), but too much here is Beach Boys pastiche.

35TH ANNIVERSARY Ugly Kid Joe - As Ugly As They Wanna Be (1991) Stardog Favourite Track: Whiplash Liquor The six tracks here are so quintessentially early-90s you can almost smell the Lynx deodorant when you stick it on. #UglyKidJoe #AsUglyAsTheyWannaBe

35TH ANNIVERSARY Soundgarden - Badmotorfinger (1991) Favourite Track: Room A Thousand Years Wide If I were to ever pick a defining album of the Seattle sound it would be a toss up between this and 'Dirt', both exceptionally well crafted records that really nail the Seattle sound. #Soundgarden

25TH ANNIVERSARY Les Savy Fav - Go Forth Frenchkiss Records Favourite Track; Crawling Can Be Beautiful 'Go Forth' is the turning point for the band where they begin to lose some of the more abrasive elements of their sound and become, dare I say it, quite catchy. #LesSavyFav #GoForth

25TH ANNIVERSARY Kylie Minogue - Fever (2001) Parlophone Favourite Track: Give It To Me Many place this as her greatest album and it's hard to argue with that assessment because every song here has "hit single" potential, it's just banger after banger here.... #Kylie #Fever

40TH ANNIVERSARY Iggy Pop - Blah-Blah-Blah (1986) A&M Favourite Track: Isolation Pop dismissed the album as a "Bowie album in all but name" but that does a disservice to the third and final collaboration between the two legends. #IggyPop #blahblahblah

40TH ANNIVERSARY The Fall - Bend Sinister (1986) Favourite Track: U.S. 80's - 90's Sounds like the work of disgruntled grave diggers after a night on the lash who've stumbled into a tin can and decided to record their rantings on a tape recorder....yeah it's that good. #TheFall #BendSinister

30TH ANNIVERSARY Weezer - Pinkerton (1996) DGC Favourite Track: Getchoo 30 years on and it still stands out as one of the best albums of their career. As good as their debut, I don't think so, but it's a worthy successor and proof that the first album was no fluke. #Weezer #Pinkerton

30TH ANNIVERSARY Moby - Animal Rights (1996) Favourite Track: Come On Baby The often forgotten hardcore punk album from Moby, released between his early rave albums and his commercial smash 'Play', it alienated fans, confounded critics and was a bit of a flop it's an album I still really enjoy

35TH ANNIVERSARY Pixies - Trompe Le Monde (1991) Favourite Track: U-Mass Now people do claim this is the worst Pixies album, maybe because it's more polished than their previous work or maybe it's because it sounds more like a Frank Black solo album, but for me I think the hate is unjustified

30TH ANNIVERSARY Fatboy Slim - Better Living Through Chemistry (1996) Favourite Track: The Weekend Starts Here Triggered my love of electronic music, having spent my teens listening to grunge, punk and Britpop I'd started to get jaded by guitar music and needed a jolt to get me excited.

35TH ANNIVERSARY Hole - Pretty On The Inside (1991) Favourite Track: Babydoll 'Pretty On The Inside' which turns 35 today, is where it all really started for Hole and it nails everything it attempts, as a manifesto, as a piece of art and as an exercise in how to marry noise and hooks. #Hole

35TH ANNIVERSARY Guns N' Roses - Use Your Illusion I & II (1991) Favourite Track: You Could Be Mine Could it have been a better single album if they jettisoned some of the filler (yes, almost certainly), is the blind ambition so infectious that it cancels out the flaws (you betcha) #Gunsnroses

25TH ANNIVERSARY Soil - Scars (2001) Favourite Track: Halo Most of it works and on the odd occasion it descends into a nu metal version of Bryan Adams (The One), but overall it's just a great little headbanger of a record, perfect for long drives in the wilderness. #Soil #Scars #numetal
