When Republicans say they hated big government, they meant the Constitution, checks and balances, Congress, etc.

Fucking crazy that they don't say Iran, the Iranian people, no, these people explicitly stand with the fucking dictator. Absolutely disgusting.

I still feel like we live in some fucking experimental reality where someone decided to assemble the most ironic choices for each position. I don't think I woulda ever imagined we'd be where we are now 10 years ago. We are all just simulated NPCs for an AI generated comedy about the US gov

Ive never been a fan of twitter, and even disliked its format, so I disliked that Bluesky used its format, but the underlying tech is what compelled me to use it. Heck I was hardly even much of a poster

These stupid fucks that keep saying "can you imagine if it was the other way around" just show off how fucking out of touch and politically ignorant they are. These fuckers have such a skewed view of reality and are only aware of very selected events.

Forgot Melissa Hortman which is probably one of the closest parallels. And to add to this, remember that every Dem disavowed this Rando. The electorate *voted in* the one who incited the Jan 6 insurrection again, and he subsequently PARDONED every one of them. It's endorsed by the leader and voters

Ah yes the infamous Transgender Ideology of "*Notices Buldge OwO What's this?!"
NBC News Excerpt:

Officials found a bolt-action rifle wrapped in a dark towel yesterday in a wooded area on the edge of Utah Valley University. Cox said it was a Mauser model 98 bolt-action rifle. It had a scope mounted on it. There were inscriptions on casings found within the rifle, Cox said. The inscription on the fired casing said: "notices, bulges, OWO, what's this?"
Three unfired casings also had inscriptions, Cox said.
One read, "Hey fascists! Catch!" with an up arrow, a right arrow and three down arrows.
The second said, "Oh bella ciao, bella ciao, bella ciao ciao ciao."
The third, "If you read this, you are gay LMAO."

Or the actual President, who illegally missile strikes a boat in international waters killing civikians, and incited an insurrection that resulted in death, and threatening Mike Pence with death? Instead they VOTE for this guy
000
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 11/09/2025
On the left you are expected to call out random people on twitter or other SM for celebrating this, but on the right they aren't even expected to condemn the murder of Melissa Hortman? I'll say murder is bad but I ain't wasting my time when the right exploits this uneven double standard

000
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 11/09/2025
Overall the double standards, reactions, and expectations seem to want to galvanize america against broadly the dems and the left, and give people a skewed perspective of the reality we have already been living in.
020
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 11/09/2025
And we know that the literal president himself has committed atrocities (from insurrection to the illegal boat strike), and the entire voter based voted for him (at least with the knowledge of the insurrection). There is way more of a direct link to the members of the party and voter base there
130
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 11/09/2025
And yet Elon Musk will call the "Left" a Party of murder? We haven't even caught the guy, we don't know shit about him, he coulda been a leftist, he coulda been a Dem, he coulda been anything. But we do know that the one who murdered *sitting congressmen* was a trump supporter.
170
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 11/09/2025
Again, I think murder is wrong in itself, I also think this solves nothing, and does more harm than good overall But God damn the right is so much better at exploiting these situations. Every Dem is expressing their condolences, where the right doesn't give a SHIT when it happens the other way.

Yea like I'll agree that he shoudlnt have been killed, but people will clutch their pearls if you don't bawl your eyes out and salute him as a martyr. People who didn't give two shits when the Dem lawmakers were assassinated. People who mock George Floyd or excuse his death because of his shit

Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 10/09/2025
You don't get to pull this false unifying shit when at every other turn you've been utterly divisive. Already people are pretending this is some sort of unprecedented violence from the left. Again, not that this isn't bad, but let's not pretend this is out of nowhere.
000
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 10/09/2025
Don't get me wrong, the killing was bad, but nah, where the fuck was this energy when Dem law makers were assassinated? Nah fuck this, fly your flags high, he can get our "thoughts and prayers" but that's it
Trump post, reposted by Daily wire: "In honor of Charlie Kirk, a truly Great American Patriot, am ordering all American Flags throughout the United States lowered to Half Mast until Sunday evening at 6 P.M."

Though it could also be some of the cuts from spending done in order to make up for the tax cuts of the employers.
000
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
And in this case I think it's an *appeal* to the stupidity of the voter base. I think it feeds on and exemplifies the "destruction of the establishment". People view vaccines as something that the establishment nefariously forced on them. So this can win massive points there.

Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
The apparent discrepancies are most likely just going to be areas of compromise, where the predicted loss that's suffered might be considered worth the wins they get elsewhere. Though I don't put stupidity past many as an explanation.
100
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
Because I think there are ultimately a mixture of factions that are working together. Not all of the actions of this Adminstration are going to be beneficial to every single person. Already some tensions wrt things like H1B visas, because that benefits billionaires & employers, but not the racists
100
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
Though I'd caveat that with ofc that doesn't *disprove* it, and there could be other explanations like perhaps less religious people are more inclined to look for the missing answers in our world, but that would be a better metric than just raw contributors, if going down that path
000
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
And ultimately if we do want to use this as a metric, or we are talking about in modern times, typically it seems that contributors, or people who work in things like science, even if many are religious, they are significantly *less* religious than the populations they tend to come from

doing some extra crunching in his sleep, and his ontological beliefs in the Hindu world view informed his rationalization and explanation.

Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
So there could be useful tidbits of information, or these great contributors might syncretize or rationalize their contribution with motivations from them. Ramanujan claims Namagiri Thayar revealed mathematical formulas to him in dreams, when we'd probably be more likely to think his brain was just
100
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
As a human, it's easier to some extent to rely on your society for passing on information to you that you might take for granted, but they are alive, so there's at least enough information in there that likely kept them alive. So most people are just going to adopt the world views they are born into
100
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
Furthermore that doesn't also mean that things like the bible etc are *completely* vapid of any useful information. But you also have ancient tribal cultures who have some useful information encoded, like what berries to eat.
100
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
Typically in science and history, and most of our fields of knowledge, we don't believe in things just because some smart guy does. We believe what they *demonstrate* to be true.
100
Liberal Rebound @rebound.liberalrepublic.org · 06/09/2025
Much of contributions are also going to come from civilizations that either had a lot of resources, or a large impact, which is why much comes from British, Roman, Greek, Persian, Ottoman, empires. So we will likely see contributors allocated more towards the beliefs in those.
