I have been on a doodling kick since Jimothy! That was not my usual style but it was so fun 💗 Here's my chubby ferret doodle. I used him to make a mealtime set for the ferrets- the bowl mat arrived and I love it! Still waiting on the bowls.
A good placemat for pet bowls/dishes. The mat is a soft tie dye/watercolor mix of blue, pink, and yellow. Across the bottom it says "soupy time!" In bold black bubble letters. Above the text, there are two chubby ferret faces. The one on the left is brown, and the one on the right is grey. A curious sable ferret peers up from the soupy mat. Her name is Fernfrost.

Fur farm mink were recently released in Iceland and Oregon. Here's the thing- releasing the mink is just a DIFFERENT cruel act. These are not wild animals. They carry devastating genetics. They carry devastating diseases. Don't open the cages unless you plan to provide care to the animals.
A collage of four images

Upper left: several Chihuahua dogs in a dirty puppy mill cage.
Upper right: a Chihuahua dog being tended to in a veterinary clinic.

The caption across the upper images says "rescued" and "cared for" in black lettering.

The lower left image is a picture of a domestic mink in a fur farm cage.
The lower right image is a picture of a group of domestic mink loose on a field in Iceland.

The caption across the bottom images reads "rescued" with quotation marks in black lettering, and "dumped to die in red lettering.

There is a banner across the middle of the collage, separating the upper and lower portions. It reads, "hypocrisy in animal rights".

For over an hour we tried and failed and tried and failed to help two barn swallows that were hopelessly stuck inside a large shop. Despite wide open doors, they stayed too high to the ceiling. Finally through team coordination and a dash of luck, we successfully freed both birds!
A partially blurred image of a person holding a net. The person's shadow can be seen on the cement ground, as well as the shadow of a barn swallow as it slips free of the net and flies away.

Footage has leaked of well known Wyoming "hunter"/hunting influencer Aron Snyder throwing, kicking, stabbing, and tormenting a wounded coyote. The incident took place in TX in 2019 or 2020. I will not subject you to the horrific video.
Aron Snyder sits in an office-like area for a social media video. Behind him on the wall is an elk skull, a deer skull, and a photograph of a black dog or wolf. Aron Snyder reaches across blood spattered snow, into some underbrush. This is a still frame from the beginning of the video, and the injured coyote is not yet visible.

Happy pride!
A square graphic with rounded corners featuring a stylized illustration of a ferret head in profile, facing right. The animal is drawn with sketchy, hand-drawn linework and filled with a rainbow gradient that transitions through blue, green, yellow, orange, pink, and purple.

Below the animal are the words “BE GAY DO CRIME” in large, bold block letters, each letter filled with a distressed rainbow gradient matching the animal illustration.

My new noodle doodle: "Agent of Entropy" (Metaphorical): A concept used to describe the chaotic forces in daily life (e.g., breaking things, misplacing items) which cause empires and structures to eventually collapse.
A stylized illustration of a ferret standing alert with its head tilted upward. The ferret is rendered in a painterly, slightly abstract style with muted gray, cream, and brown tones, and it has a dark facial mask around its eyes. A thick, light-colored outline surrounds the ferret like a sticker. Beneath the ferret, in a hand-drawn, slightly messy font, are the words: “AGENT OF ENTROPY.” The background is solid black, making the figure and text stand out strongly.

⚠️Movie spoiler alert⚠️ only read on if you've seen it: In the blink of an eye, streaming on Hulu. I NEED TO KNOW if this movie made anyone else mad? Or am I being a killjoy? I'll post in a thread so the spoiler is nested.
A promotional still for the film “In the Blink of an Eye.” In the foreground, a woman with short blond hair and bright blue eyes leans forward, looking upward with a focused, slightly concerned expression. She is wearing a light beige hoodie and appears to be indoors in a softly lit modern room.
Behind her sits a young girl with dark hair pulled back, looking calmly forward. The background is softly blurred, suggesting a living room or office environment with cool blue lighting.
Large white text on the right side of the image reads: “IN THE BLINK OF AN EYE.” Above it is the logo “Searchlight Pictures.”
At the bottom of the screenshot is a streaming prompt that reads:
“Watch In the Blink of an Eye Streaming Online | Hulu” with a blue “Visit” button next to it, indicating the movie is available to watch on Hulu.

I know this is a very basic children's book, but holding a physical copy in my hand is a wild feeling. I have published a book, with my ferretography 🫨
A person holds open a children’s book to a two-page spread. The left page features a full-page photograph of a white domestic ferret looking directly at the camera, with dark eyes and a pink nose. The right page contains a section titled “What are ferrets?” with explanatory text about ferrets and their place in the weasel family. At the bottom of the page is a small photo of a black-and-white ferret lying on its back and playing with a bright yellow rope toy.

Text on the right page (transcript):

What are ferrets?

Ferrets are curious domestic animals that love to explore and play! They are MUSTELIDS (MUSS-tuh-lids), or members of the weasel family. Other members of the weasel family include otters, badgers, mink, and martens.

This book introduces advanced vocabulary using real ferrets and their playful personalities.

Encourage children to say each word out loud, read the pronunciation together, and talk about how the picture shows the meaning.A person holds open a children’s vocabulary book to a two-page spread featuring two ferret photographs with vocabulary words. The left page shows a brown-and-white ferret wearing a small harness standing in sunlit grass, with warm golden light shining around it. The right page shows a dark sable ferret standing confidently on a weathered log, looking toward the camera. Each page includes a vocabulary word, pronunciation guide, and definition.

Text on the pages (transcript):

A ferret enjoys the LUMINOUS sunshine.
Luminous (LOO-muh-nus):
Glowing with soft, bright light.

This ferret strikes a MAJESTIC pose!
Majestic (muh-JES-tik):
Grand and beautiful in a powerful way.

Krill pop? Yes please!!
A cream-colored mink named Emmy with soft fur and a pink nose leans forward curiously to sniff and lick a frozen treat on a stick. The treat looks like a small pink-orange lollipop made from frozen krill. Emmy’s long white whiskers fan forward and her bright eyes focus intently on the snack. The krill pop is held just above her swimming pool. The overall scene feels playful and gentle, capturing Emmy investigating her unusual frozen treat.A cream-colored mink named Emmy eagerly bites into a frozen krill lollipop held on a stick. Her pink nose points upward and her long white whiskers fan outward as she grips the orange-pink frozen treat with her teeth. The krill pop glistens slightly as it begins to melt. Behind her in the background is her swimming pool, and the soft blue fabric of her tunnel appears in the lower background. Emmy’s expression looks determined and delighted as she chomps down on the unusual snack.

I have published a book, using my ferretography!
A children’s book cover featuring a close-up photograph of a ferret peeking out from beneath a rough piece of tree bark in a snowy outdoor setting. The ferret has creamy white and brown fur, a pink nose, and dark curious eyes. Small patches of snow and bits of moss or green plant matter are visible around the bark, suggesting a cold woodland environment. The bark forms a natural arch over the ferret’s head, framing its face as it looks outward.
Across the top of the cover, in large playful bubble-style letters with thick black outlines and soft pastel coloring, is the title:
WORDY WEASELS!
Below the ferret photo, the subtitle appears in similar bold rounded lettering:

Coolcoolcool. This is fine, right? A wildfire in December in Wyoming? This is fine! Everything is a-ok. Just because we have honey bees, budding trees, and wildfires in December doesn't mean there's a problem, this is all just fine. (Sarcasm with a slight edge of panic)

Caught The Fire Bug — in Wyoming
13h

Wyoming: New years eve fire.

On 12/31/25 firefighters from Clearmont closed out the new year fighting a grass fire. The fire was wind driven and about 2 acres in size.
Conditions are unseasonably favorable for fires. Increased winds, Dry grass, and unseasonably warm weather helped aide in growth and spread of the fire.

The location is being withheld and the fire is currently being investigated by the SCSO. 📷 Clearomont fire District.

A landscape photograph shows a grass fire burning on a hillside in Wyoming. Low flames move across dry vegetation, glowing orange through thick smoke that drifts across the scene. The terrain appears arid, with sparse brush and rolling hills or low mountains in the background. The sky is hazy, likely from smoke, emphasizing dry and windy conditions consistent with wildfire spread.

A honey bee. On Christmas day. IN NORTHERN WYOMING.
A small honeybee with a golden-brown, fuzzy body and translucent wings clings to the outer edge of a shallow blue ceramic dish. The bee is positioned near the rim, its legs gripping the curved surface as it appears to rest. The dish contains a mix of birdseed in white, tan, and brown tones. Beneath and around the dish is a weathered wooden surface with visible cracks and grain lines, and scattered dark soil in the background. Sunlight highlights the bee and the blue glaze.

Logo art by Imogen Fischer 🦦🐾
Image description:

A collage on a tan, textured paper background shows the development of a logo featuring a mustelid character, credited to Imogen Fischer.

At the top left is an early black-and-white sketch on white paper. It depicts a mustelid’s head and upper body facing forward, framed by an oval wreath of thorny branches with small leaves and buds. The linework is rough and exploratory, with visible construction lines and an expressive, slightly worried facial expression.

At the top right is a clean, fully colored version of the same design on a cream background. The mustelid has soft, pale cream fur, a pink nose, and large golden-yellow eyes. The expression appears gentle and alert. The head is framed by a wreath of brown branches with dark green leaves and small white blossoms. The illustration is polished, with smooth shading and crisp outlines.

At the bottom left is a finished logo badge set against a dark, starry blue background. The same mustelid portrait appears within the branch wreath, now enclosed in a decorative emblem shape. Below the animal, stylized text reads “Mustelid Madness Rescue & Sanctuary.” The overall look is warm, professional, and emblem-like, suitable for branding.

On the right side of the collage, handwritten-style text reads:
“Logo Art by Imogen Fischer”
Below it, a smaller note says:
“Note: we make promotional & seasonal edits to our logos.”

Overall, the image illustrates the progression from concept sketch to finished logo art, highlighting the artist’s role and the adaptable nature of the rescue’s branding.

Frostfang the Mink by Sketchy Annie 💗❄️
Image description:

A collage presents the illustration process and finished merchandise designs by Aneta Knoppvá Illustrations, arranged on a warm tan, paper-textured background.

At the top left is a white sketch page filled with loose pencil drawings of a stylized mink character. The sketches show multiple facial expressions and poses: curious, smug, playful, and affectionate. One small handwritten sound effect reads “PFF…” near a dismissive expression. Some sketches show the mink hugging a plush walrus toy, with tiny hearts floating nearby.

At the top right is a finished, full-color character sheet on a muted blue background. The same mink appears in several expressive busts and poses, rendered in a soft cartoon style with clean outlines. The mink has gray-brown fur, a white face and chest, pink nose, and small dark freckles. Expressions range from confident and sly to happy and affectionate. One pose shows the mink cuddling a small plush walrus, surrounded by red heart icons.

In the bottom left is a photograph of several die-cut stickers resting in a person’s hand. The stickers feature the mink character in different poses, including hugging the small plush walrus. One sticker includes bold, humorous text reading: “I don’t bite, I amputate.” Another sticker shows affectionate imagery with hearts.

In the bottom right is a photograph of a single sticker placed outdoors on a dark car window surface dusted with snow. The sticker shows the mink with a defiant, unimpressed expression. White, hand-lettered text beside the character reads: “Don’t kill my vibe.”

Centered along the bottom of the collage is the artist credit in bold, hand-drawn lettering:
“Aneta Knoppvá Illustrations.”

Overall, the image highlights a cohesive character design workflow -from sketchbook concepts to polished digital illustrations and real-world sticker products- featuring a sassy, expressive mink character with humor and attitude.

Our Clémence Maret pieces 😍
Image description:

A collage of illustrated mustelid artwork is arranged on a tan, corkboard-like background, showcasing multiple drawings and finished pieces by the same artist, Clemence Maret.

At the top left is a black-and-white line drawing labeled “Jack the Ferret.” The ferret is mid-motion with an arched back, open mouth, and expressive face, emphasizing its long, flexible body and fluffy tail.

At the top right is another black-and-white sketch titled “Nicolas the Mink.” The mink is shown reclining with legs in the air and tail curved, with a rounded face and cheerful expression. The style is loose and playful, focusing on movement and personality.

In the middle left is a colored rectangular illustration with a teal background reading “Mustelid Madness Kids.” A brown mink swims horizontally across the frame, body stretched long, eyes wide and friendly, with small bubbles trailing behind.

In the middle right is a clean black-and-white line drawing titled “Nicolas the Mink! Mustelid Madness.” The mink lunges forward with front paws extended, body elongated, and a happy, energetic expression.

At the bottom left hangs a banner-style illustration titled “Anatomy of a Ferret.” A cartoon gray ferret is labeled with humorous, fictional anatomy notes such as “bottomless void,” “boneless wiggle-sack,” “crinkle detectors,” “jet propulsion system,” and “dook meter,” giving it a lighthearted educational tone.

At the bottom right is a fully colored illustration of a brown mink stretched long and low to the ground, smiling as if running or sliding forward. Bold text next to it reads:
“Nicolas the Mink – Lovin’ life livin’ free, my fur belongs to me!”

Centered near the bottom of the collage is the credit text:
“Artwork by Clémence Maret.”

Overall, the image highlights a range of expressive ferret and mink illustrations -from sketch concepts to polished, colorful designs- emphasizing movement, humor, and animal individuality.

My new pieces from Saffyre Arts ❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥❤️‍🔥
Image description:

A collage labeled with the artist's name, “Saffyre Arts”, shows the creative process behind illustrated animal artwork, displayed on a tan, textured background.

At the top left is a dark slate-blue sketch page with light blue line drawings of small mustelids (ferret & mink) in dynamic poses, wearing a backpack and moving energetically, as if leaping or running. These are rough concept sketches with loose, expressive lines.

Overlapping this are two clean, sepia-toned line art panels on white paper. Each panel features a mustelid character standing upright on its hind legs, dressed in whimsical, fantasy-style clothing. The characters wear small capes, belts, and pouches, suggesting a woodland adventurer or forager theme. Decorative elements like leaves, mushrooms, and forest debris float around them.

At the bottom are two fully colored, finished illustrations presented side by side, framed with thin white borders.

Left illustration: A light cream-colored mink stands in a playful pose, wearing a brown satchel and scarf. Mushrooms, leaves, eggs, and forest details surround it, creating a soft, storybook woodland scene.

Right illustration: A darker, black-and-white ferret stands upright, dressed in a brown cap, scarf, belt, and pouch, gazing upward with a curious, alert expression. The background is muted gray-green with oak leaves, acorns, and forest motifs framing the figure.

Overall, the image highlights Saffyre Arts creative workflow- from rough sketches, to refined line art, to polished, richly colored fantasy-style animal illustrations with a cozy, woodland aesthetic.

Image Description:
A stylized illustration features a cream-colored mink with soft, rounded features and large, expressive golden eyes. The mink looks directly forward with a gentle, slightly sad but hopeful expression. Its small rounded ears and subtle reddish markings on the nose stand out against its pale fur.

The mink is framed within an ornate oval made of intertwining brown branches decorated with dark blue leaves and small pale blossoms. Behind the mink is a night sky filled with stars fading into silhouettes of dark evergreen trees at the lower edges. Beneath the illustration, large parchment colored text outlined in brown reads: “Mustelid Madness Rescue & Sanctuary.”

The animals shown include shapes resembling an otter, mink, ferret, stoat, badger, and similar species, all in side-profile and solid black with no details.

Centered beneath the silhouettes are the authors’ names (“Stacey Santi” and “Glenn H. Parker”) followed by the book title in dark blue text: “Biology of sinus worm (Skrjabingylus) infections in Mustelid species.” A smaller subtitle beneath repeats: “Sinus worm (Skrjabingylus) infections in Mustelids.” Near the bottom is the Lambert Academic Publishing logo, featuring a globe and an open book. A thick red horizontal bar runs along the bottom edge of the cover.
Book overview

Skrjabingyliasis among mustelids has frequently been inferred from sinus lesions without actual recovery of the suspect nematode. In the present work on mink, otter, fisher, marten and weasels collected from various regions in Ontario, Quebec and Newfoundland, prevalence and intensity of Skrjabingylus spp. infections were assessed through subjective scorings for sinus discoloration, swelling, bone thinning and perforations and later confirmed by extracting and counting parasitic worms present. While lesion scores generally proved to be reliable predictors of infection, even among museum-curated specimens, certain species-specific exceptions were clearly indicated. Despite marked sinus enlargement and bone pathology, heavily-infected mink failed to show significant reduction in braincase volume. Variations in infection rate with respect to sites, host species, sex-age cohort, and the ensuing patterns of bone pathology are discussed. In addition to providing a critical review of the utility of sinus lesions, this book addresses the pathological and functional impacts of such infections, and will be a valuable resource for parasitology researchers, students and instructors alike.

Emmy is THE Rebel Mink, and her story is probably (definitely) not going to fit within the character limit, so check the replies as well. Emmy is mischief incarnate, and of course is another Utah fur farm industry survivor. All our mink are self-escapees: they broke out of jail on their own.
This is Emmy the mink. She is shown in a side profile, with her head turned slightly upward. Her fur is a soft, creamy beige color, and her pink nose stands out brightly against her light coat. Her eyes are a warm reddish-brown, catching the light. Long white whiskers fan out from her muzzle. Her small rounded ears sit low on her head, blending into her smooth fur. She appears to be standing on or beside a person’s leg, with part of a denim fabric visible. In the background, there’s a piece of natural wood and a couple of white PVC tunnel pieces.

Lysander is another Utah farm survivor, found as a sub-adult in a residential back yard. Missing his left ear and inflicted with nystagmus, he likely suffered some type of head trauma on the farm or after he escaped. Now, he is a very spoiled but polite gentleman who likes plush bunnies.
This is Lysander the mink (he/him). He is facing the camera with his mouth open, showing small sharp teeth, giving him an expressive, happy look. His fur is a light silvery-gray color, and he has a soft pink nose. His eyes appear reddish-brown, reflecting the camera flash. Notably, Lysander is missing his left ear- only the right ear is visible, rounded and fur-covered. He is surrounded by straw bedding, with some darker fabric visible to the side, creating a cozy enclosure.

Smaug was found as an orphaned kit, to a mum who had escaped a Utah fur farm but was unable to survive in the wild feeding her young. Smaug was sadly found next to her body, crying, the only survivor. Now he is a spoiled teddy bear with sharp fangs and claws.
This is Smaug the mink. He is standing on a bed of reddish-brown wood chips. His fur is glossy black, and he has a small white patch on his chin that stands out against his dark coat. His round ears are set low on his head, and he is looking directly at the camera with bright, shiny eyes. His front paws are slightly forward, giving him an alert, curious posture. The background is softly blurred, making Smaug the clear focus of the image.

This is Smaug, black dragon of doooom, survivor of Utah's fur farm industry. I had to speed up the video slightly to make it compatible with Bluesky

Senators, Reps Please understand that your representation goes beyond your home district or your state at this point in history. The entirety of the American people are watching you. Depending on you. Your representation doesn't stop at arbitrary lines on a map. We see you, good & bad.

Wolfie is such a huge fat FLOOF right now! Wolfie and Ranger were surrendered in 2024. They were purchased from Petco, but the buyer's husky wanted to eat them. Rather than returning them, they contacted MMR and surrendered them 💗
This image shows Wolfie the ferret outdoors among fallen autumn leaves and green grass. He has a dark brown coat with creamy markings on his face and neck, and his small pink nose has a little spot of dirt on it. Wolfie is wearing a black harness, and a hand is gently resting on his back as he looks up with bright, curious eyes. The scene feels calm and natural, capturing a moment of exploration and companionship during an outdoor adventure.

Emmy enjoys quail eggs, but she's also obsessed with quail egg CARTONS, so I'm not sure what her motivation is here. Hunger for a yummy treat, or obsession with her precious cartons? Probably both.
This image shows Emmy the mink, a cream-colored mink with reddish eyes and a pink nose, caught in a mischievous moment. She’s standing upright on her hind legs, gripping a plastic container of quail eggs with her front paws and trying to bite into it. The quail eggs are speckled brown and white, clearly tempting her curiosity. Emmy’s soft fur and bright expression stand out against the dark purple blanket beneath her, which is patterned with golden moons and stars. The scene is playful and full of personality, capturing Emmy’s spirited and clever nature.

PLEASE READ! Justice has moved slowly in WY, but it is moving. In Feb 2024, Cody Roberts used his snowmobile to run over a young wolf. He captured the injured wolf, duct taped her mouth shut, dragged her into the Green River Bar, and tortured & killed her. He has been INDICTED on felony charges!
This image shows a man kneeling indoors beside an injured gray wolf. The wolf appears exhausted and subdued, with its muzzle tightly bound in red duct tape. The man, wearing a plaid shirt, jeans, and a brown baseball cap, is gripping the wolf by the scruff of the neck with one hand while holding a can of beer in the other. He is smiling broadly at the camera. The setting appears to be a dimly lit room with coats and boots visible in the background.

(Context for accessibility: According to reports, the man pictured has been charged with felony animal cruelty in Wyoming for capturing and torturing this wolf, later identified as “Hope.”)

Koko is ✨fancy✨
This image shows a ferret standing on grass. The ferret has a sleek, slender body covered in dark brown fur with lighter, creamy patches on its neck and sides. Its small rounded ears, pointed snout, and alert posture give it an inquisitive look as it gazes upward. The background is a softly blurred field of green grass, suggesting a sunny outdoor setting.

With the utter flood of *everything* that is happening during this administration, we should still be keeping an eye on this ongoing public health threat.
