linux, games and other random blah. Not to be taken seriously. I love solving problems and helping people take control of their tech, esp. if it involves setting up linux. DM me if you're switching and need help :) pfp by the amazing @kharzy.bsky.social

New music from @meganeko.com is hitting perfectly right now. Not sure how, but manages to fit my general mood incredibly well. <3

Doing this for 9 games was surprisingly hard, so I did 9 animes instead.

A 3x3 grid of 9 Anime series and movie covers titled "My 9 Animes: The 9 Anime that shaped Who I Am"
Listed are: Neon Genesis Evangelion, Ghost In The Shell, Pokemon, FLCL, The Cat Returns, Whisper of the Heart, Trigun, Sailor Moon Sailor Stars and Cowboy Bebop.

crunch isn't something that happens from the passion of the worker. it happens from the failure of leadership. this is an admission that they don't know what they're doing over there.

Not being able to use your Computer because it's updating is just as stupid as not being able to use your mouse because it's charging. I wish I didn't have to use #Microslop at work...

I do think AI makes programmers more efficient..... at creating gigantic amounts of tech debt.

I love the smell of fall rain. This is why I live in pnw. I'd be down to cut summers shorter and have more fall time 🍂

I wonder if trans spider would have different powers or their powers would change. some spider-men age slower, maybe transitioning with estrogen would super-charge their healing and slow aging? #spider-man #trans

If you too would like to stop using increasingly shitty software made by bad people who make the world worse, I wrote a guide for how to lessen/end your small team's dependence on US-based tech services: nelsanderson.zone/a-guide-to-d...

In light of recent Google things, just wanna mention that I've been paying for and using Kagi for a couple months now and it works well. It's not just a proxy, they have their own search index. I also feel better paying for the services I use. Always be wary of free stuff, esp. on the internet.

Quick PSA. Looking at you, local orgs and small businesses.

Crudely drawn bunny character holding a pencil, messy hand lettering surrounds them in orange to green gradient color. It says in all caps:

Stop using AI for your flyers & logos! They look like shit, everybody thinks so! Seriously, you’re losing business. Just make it yourself or hire a real artist.

Sure, maybe I like talking about my hyper fixations, but maybe I'm also trying to avoid the "normal conversations". My prepared masking scripts are not very long and make me incredibly nervous. Make the neurodivergent person in your life happy: Mention something about their favorite topics instead.

I love Big Walk, it's exactly the kind of game I've been wanting to make for a long time. And instead of filling me with dread, that it's been made before I could, it fills me with joy that it's possible to make a 'third space' game like this. It fills me with hope that we can have more like this <3

Over 3 years ago, I was trying out linux distros again (as you do), intending to dual boot parallel to windows (as you do). I accidentally deleted my windows partition (as you do), but no worries, I had a backup (as you hopefully do). I decided I'd recover windows when I need it. Never did.
