Huge congrats to recent grad Evan LaBrant and the team Cailin, Joslin, Alondra, and more—on their groundbreaking research into how chloroplasts build and maintain their photosynthetic membranes! 🎉 Multiple analyses support contact sites! With candidates! Full manuscript: doi.org/10.1101/2025...

So proud of CailinSmith, who volunteered 2 years ago to work hard to make the 2025 #GRS Plant Lipids a success! She represents the powerful progress that young scientists everywhere bring to their fields and labs, and I'm grateful she's in mine. 😊 @unlincoln.bsky.social

Our new study in Antioxidants shows that Coenzyme M, a scalable archaeal antioxidant, can be a biostimulant for sustainable agriculture.🌱🚨 ✅ Boosts growth in crops like tobacco, basil, soybean, & cannabis ✅ Enhances photosynthesis Thanks @unlincoln.bsky.social, PSI, and Biochem! And all authors!

Coenzyme M sprayed on Arabidopsis or tobacco improves growth in a concentration-dependent manner. It also increases photosynthetic efficiency, one potential growth mechanism.

🎉 Thrilled to share that I will join the Dept of Botany and Plant Science at UC Riverside in fall 2024 as Asst Prof of Plant Resilience! Couldn't have done this without the sacrifices of my parents, family, & the support of mentors Ken Birnbaum @szintri.bsky.social @rebeccaroston.bsky.social... ...
