I'm writing a blog post about why therapists shouldn't be using AI. The whole thing is so genuinely dystopian it's hard to talk about it in a way that won't seem unhinged to people who are very offline and haven't heard much about the dangers and drawbacks.
Daffy duck draws a complex and characteristically ingenious map to a planetCharlie meme, he stands enthused in front of some haphazardly arranged documents on a wahl, which have been connected to each other throughlines of red crayon

I can't prove it but I would bet this book started as a book for therapists to admonish the field for nearly killing her. It's very good.

I need to take a new headshot for various professional advertising things because my current one is nearly 10 years old. Something friendly and welcoming and calm. I'm looking through what I have so far. Example:
A woman in her 40s looks up at the sky, her face contorted by its brightness

This is not true. Gemini will tell you basically anyone has ADHD. If you ask it 3 times you might get 3 different answers. LLMs ("AI") cannot facts. #adhd #gemini #ai #llm #misinformation The two citations it cites have him talking about recovery from addiction, with no mention of ADHD.
A Gemini assisted duck duck go search where Gemini says: "Yes, Macklemore has publicly shared that he was diagnosed with ADHD at age 30. He has discussed how it has affected his life and career"

This is the book that taught me how to read.. like many people with #ADHD, I often hold onto things if they are associated with important memories. If I throw it out, will I forget how to read?
An open book, one page has a watercolor with two children and a red setter dog. The other page reads: Here is Peter and here is Jane. Here is Pat the dog.

New blog post about executive functions. I made an infographic rebeccabourketherapy.com/2025/06/07/w...
A 6 part graph explaining executive functions, with each of the 6 headings broken into 2 subheadings. Full alt text available on the blog

"After being persuaded that a lobotomy would help to calm his daughter and prevent her sometimes violent mood swings, Joseph Kennedy authorized the operation. The relatively new procedure [...] left Rosemary permanently incapacitated and unable to care for herself. "
The text reads "RFK's aunt was lobotomized for what sounds like PDA (pervasive drive for autonomy, associated with Autism). RFK says there are no elderly Autistic people.

It shows a picture of Rosemary Kennedy at about 20, a beautiful smiling face with youthful rosy cheeks and similar eyes to JFK, her brother. She is wearing 1940s classy fashion, a jacket or coat with a floral broach, blouse, and pearl earrings.

(I normally leave these details out but the Kennedy family used to be so glamorous and everyone used to talk about it)

Screenshot of Google Oxford languages dictionary entry for trend. The first and second definitions are given in the post above, while the third is: "a topic that is the subject of many posts"

What I mean is, you don't need to find a word like "perplexed" or "inspired" or "happy" from the feelings wheel to feel the benefits of putting a label on a feeling
Hundreds of feeling words displayed on a colourful wheel. I'm r center d happy, surprised, bad, fearful, angry, disgusted and sad. Then each level the words get more specific

Maybe it wasn't a blackthorn because its fruit were smaller than in this picture Anyone know this tree: - sharp thorns - leaves kind of like a Hawthorne - small black fruit - hates cyclists
A blackthorn. Dark blue purple fruit on a branch with big thorns. Its leaves are classic leaf shaped, unlike a Hawthorne which has leaves like grabby little hands

I don't think this is true? Is this more misinformation from Gemini? #gemini #adhd #pennjillett

So much of it focuses on organization and ignores the emotional part, which is much more impactful in my view. I'm reading The Book You Wish Your Parents Had Read by Phillipa Perry at the moment, I think it would be helpful despite not being focused on ADHD

Check out the beautiful view from my counselling office now that the scaffolding has finally been taken down. I joke, but it's pretty cool! 🎉

Someone tried to create this old meme and got confused methinks. I do not like this poster:
It says "things that require zero talent" and lists 10 things. 1. Being in time 2. Making an effort. 3. Being high energy. 4. Having a positive attitude. 5. Being passionate. 6. Using good body language. 7. Being coachable. 8. Doing a little extra. 9. Being prepared
10. Having a strong work ethic. This is a poster of unknown origin, commonly reposted.

Someone left their hat on the train but something tells me they don't care?

I'm using one just called speed reader at the moment, it has a few different read modes, not exactly what I think might suit you but maybe! Plus increasing the challenge can help
A photo of my phone displaying the app. There's a small chuck of text in the center of a black screen, just 9 words

More
Winding stairs inside a tower, there is no hand rail, and, bonus, the windows go low enough that you could also fall out the windowsA utility room with 5 sudden unmarked steps descending from the middle of the floor. No railing, no rubber strips, no warning of any kind. Tiled floor. Narrow and steep steps in a home. They are so narrow the person can't fit their feet on them

It's come to my attention some of you may share my trepidation for stairs. A thing I enjoy is frightening myself by looking at pictures of "Death Stairs"
A set of stairs rust are scary because they swap half way from being standard to alternating height between left and right stepIncredibly steep stairs up the side of a mountain. As steep as a ladder but with a little chain handrail. A woman stands atop them, smiling, taking a selfie for usStairs in an Airbnb that are almost ordinary but very very steep. There is orange and black tape to stop you hitting your head because, even being this steep, there wasn't enough space for stairs here and you can hit your head off the floor as you descend

Phone on silent, or off, is not the same as no phone, the phone is potentially always distracting. Some people will have a "feature phone" for when they are out and about, and a smart phone for other occasions.
A feature phone / button phone. Number pad, direction buttons, screen. No Internet, just calls and texts. This one is the Nokia 105, not an ad, just chosen because it's about 25 euro and I don't think you can get a feature phone cheaper than that.
