Good trip to the farm today - corn on the cob, zucchini, Chinese eggplant, delicata squash and pears! The farmer said, as long as there is no frost, they could have corn for several more weeks!

Latest Read; Psycho by Robert Bloch. I recently rewatched the movie so decided to read the book. The movie was very faithful, but somehow it was better than the book, but I still enjoyed this. Interesting to see the original Norman Bates, much different than the movie one!

I've been a reporter for almost 30 years and I truly, truly believe local news is vital, but days like this are hard when there are even more and more layoffs and you lose good people, people who have been doing this for decades. It makes it hard to love the profession

Latest read: The Exorcist by William Peter Blatty. I haven't read this since I was in high school, so I decided to reread it now...and I absolutely loved it. The movie is really faithful to the book, but there's so much more depth to the characters that you just don't have time for in a movie.

I've noticed that my cat Bear has become more assertive since her sister died. She always kind of let her sister take the lead in everything and it seems like she's letting her personality out for. Definitely exhibiting the legendary tortitude!

There's a little old lady who I see on my walk that often offers me things and I always turn down for various reasons and I started feeling guilty. I told myself, the next time she offered me something, I'd take it just to be nice. And today, I scored, two local peaches from one of the local farms!

I love weekends. If my bed is feeling extra comfortable, I don't have to drag myself out of it to get ready for work. I laid in bed for an hour and a half after waking up this morning and it felt fantastic!

Latest read: The Nudge by Joseph Fink. I liked the idea of the story, but this is a (mostly) two-character story and the dialogue between the two characters just didn't flow like a real conversation. It felt like a conversation written by college creative writing students.

Latest read - Lost Boy: The True Story of Capt. Hook by Christina Henry. I've read quite a few horror-version of children's stories, and this has been my favorite. I loved everything about it - the story, the characters, the dialogue. Peter Pan just makes a perfect conversion to horror.

Latest read: This Movie Doesn't End the Way We Want by Hailey Piper. I adore Hailey Piper and I've read all of her books and this one is up there with "No Gods for Drowning," as my favorite. I absolutely loved the story, the characters and the Toad Man! A must read!
