The LeBron James of classical music. Started going deaf in my 20s. Finished going deaf in my 50s. NOT a parody account! "The situation is desperate, but not serious."

It's true.
Text from a book: Only after 1800 do we find the first indications of a rehabilitation of his political and ideological independence. In 1801 he wrote to Wegeler that he wished his art to be "exercised only for the benefit of the poor," and to Hoffmeister in the same year he proposed a quasi-socialist system of artistic patronage: "There ought to be in the world a Market for Art where the artist would only have to bring his works and take as much money as he needed. But, as it is, an artist has to be to a certain extent a businessman as well." Remarkably, the 1802 letter to Hoffmeister concerning the proposed "Revolutionary sonata" is the first seriously political reference in his correspondence in eight years.

Classic
Early Charlie Brown cartoon strip. Schroeder sits at his piano and Charlie Brown comes in with a box saying, "I got it Schroeder! But, boy is it ever heavy...Where do you want it? On top of your piano?" The last frame is Schroeder sitting at his piano with a GIANT BUST of Beethoven on it. Schroeder exclaims "Beethoven!!!" and *sighs*

I was challenged to produce the alt text for this cartoon by a cartoonist I am unfamiliar with.
A pianist performs onstage (without sheet music). A Music Bubble displays my bagatelle which is commonly referred to as Fur Elise. The audience appears engaged in anything but listening to the music. As the composer of Fur Elise, I don't blame them.

They could. And they did. Behold, my death mask!
Death mask of Ludwig van Beethoven. The typical frown is there. Pretty skeletal looking. Kinda gross that someone felt the need to do it.

Re-posting the image with alt text
Google ad for Classical-Music.com that says "Beethoven! His 20 essential masterpieces, ranked"

As if anyone could rank my masterpieces in anything but chronological order.

Posting pics of the "boring version" with alt text (which includes the word storm 3 times).
One of the greatest piano duels to have occurred took place in Vienna in 1800. On one side was the celebrated - but now long forgotten- German virtuoso pianist Daniel Steibelt. On the other side was the legendary Ludwig van Beethoven. As was common practice, the duel was supported by two noblemen, Prince Lobkowitz supporting Steibelt and Prince Lichnowsky supporting Beethoven. First to play was Steibelt. His improvised music was full of theatrical effects, a thunderous roar from the bass creating a stormy atmosphere. With the ending of the storm, Beethoven was now the centre of attention. As he approached the piano, Beethoven brought with him a sheet of Steibelt's composition. To the entertainment of the audience, Beethoven turned the music upside down and began playing it, albeit with a few additions thrown in. Motivated by the desire to further mock Steibelt's music, Beethoven created his own storm whilst simultaneously copying Steibelt's improvisation. Despite not knowing exactly what Beethoven played in this duel, we can safely conclude that Steibelt felt utterly defeated. He promptly stormed from the room and made a promise never to return to Vienna; a promise he stuck to for his whole life.

Aw shoot, I wasn't really traumatized by any fictional characters. This real-life guy is the one who traumatized me as a child.
A portrait of Johann van Beethoven. Looks kind of boring and he was but he was also an incredibly abusive drunk.

This and my profile pic are the closest you'll get to finding a portrait with me smiling.
Color portrait of a very young me (Ludwig van Beethoven). I've got rosy cheeks and kind eyes and a small smile. I'm wearing a blue jacket with a yellowish shirt and one of those why lacey type collars.

If you see this, post the most recent photo of yourself from your camera roll. No cheating!
Portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven. He is seated in the foreground with a nature-scene behind him. He is facing the camera (well, portrait-artist). He holds a lyre in his left hand (symbolizing his musical profession) and has raised his right rand as if he's about to give you a high-five.

Happened to be a in a costume shop where I saw this Beethoven "disguise."
A riff on a classic portrait of Ludwig van Beethoven but the hair is too dark and the ascot is too white.

If music is your therapy, who is your therapist?
A portrait of George Frideric Handel. He sits in a chair with a scroll of paper in one hand on his lap, and his other hand resting on top of some books (probably some compositions) that are set on a side-table.

You'll see various stories about me sawing off piano legs to "feel" the vibrations of the piano as I played/composed in my later years. Don't believe them (piano legs unscrew, after all). Here are some actual hearing aids I used. The big one is what I used with the piano.
Four metal ear trumpets of various sizes and designs. Two of them have a headband so a person's hands can be free to play the piano. The largest one is long enough to extend out over the hood of the piano.

Nelson from The Simpsons is dressed like Ludwig van Beethoven. He sits at a piano and the text in the image say: Cackles to the tune of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony.

Reskeet with a picture of yourself where you're vaguely menacing.
