#Trump “annihilation” comment at #UNGA isn’t a head scratcher. Violence and brutishness are the hallmarks of his psyche. It can’t be normalized or softened even in polite society. It’s why he’s always been on the outside looking in; even by former presidents.

This #Trump address at #UNGA lacks any cohesive theme and is not undergirded by a central governing ideology or doctrine. It’s just a list of political grievances with no foresight, thought or substance. Much like any #MAGA campaign speech he gives on the stump.

Once again, #Trump is on a global stage at #UNGA conflating domestic politics with global politics. Who is the target audience for this speech? What is he hoping to gain for a war he started? Does he really think after this speech #Iran will retreat?

Once again, #Trump read of the room is just wrong. Like every speech at #UNGA he is giving a campaign speech that just doesn’t meet the moment. He’s in a room with sophisticated and cunning minds deeply versed in geopolitics that don’t fall his bluster.

I’m not even sure where to begin with this; first off, #Belarus doesn’t even have the infrastructure nor the capacity to supply America’s need for #potash and secondly, getting in bed with an authoritarian state doesn’t signal affinity for democracy.

Another take on the Jeffries/Kushner meeting that I think is particularly unsettling to many on the left; they don’t know if Jeffries is keeping his enemy close or sleeping with the enemy. With Kushner those on the right are more clear on his intentions.

Again, both men thought there were legit reasons to meet, especially Kushner who sees he might be on the losing end of a bruising midterm battle. But Jeffries will need to explain to the party as an internal battle rages inside the Dem Party as they fight to gain power.

The Jeffries/Kushner meeting could be a case of “keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer” for both sides but now that their sit-down has been made pubic, it is Jeffries not Kushner that will have to do most of the clean-up.
