I’m just trying to get home while avoiding the mess that is the Red Line construction without spending over an hour on the 46.

@rideonmct.bsky.social @mcdotnow.bsky.social, bus 4065D on 101 SB pulled up to Montgomery College at 4:01 PM, one passenger got off and the driver told us at the stop that the bus was out of service, closed the doors and left. There were still two passengers onboard.

But what’s causing these delays? I’d appreciate some transparency. Especially if I’m having to wait almost an hour for a bus.

I wouldn’t be so mad if I didn’t experience this on a regular basis with nearly every route I ride. I have been late to countless appointments and events due to bus trips being dropped. Maybe this has something to do with bus ridership being down 7%. It’s way too unreliable for most people.

@wmata.com M22 southbound at Connecticut and Jones Bridge was a no-show, turning my 4 minute ride into over an hour. When the next bus shows up, I will have waited at the stop for over 40 minutes. Something needs to change as this is completely unacceptable!

I would not be so mad right now if this was not a regular occurrence with Ride On. I have missed so many connections and been late to so many things because your buses left their starting point several minutes ahead of schedule.

Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 09/07/2026
Now I have completely missed the last trip on my connecting bus, ruining my entire plan for today. Please ensure that the bus drivers are not leaving the starting point ahead of the scheduled time.

@rideonmct.bsky.social @mcdotnow.bsky.social 70 left Bethesda 3 minutes early resulting in my missing it

A westbound bus finally showed up at Silver Spring after about 25 minutes of waiting. I had literally just missed the previous trip. When the bus first arrived here, it was packed.

@wmata.com this is getting ridiculous. The M70 has been running at terrible service levels on weekends for about the past 3 or so weeks. Constant bunching of buses, and unacceptable headways, and canceled trips. It has only been getting worse.

This week someone targeted my family for harm with a false report. We’re physically OK, but that doesn’t mean we weren’t harmed. I am beyond furious. Whatever your politics, this is awful, wrong, and can never become normal.

I saw that sign. That’s literally right around where I was standing to watch the parade

@wmata.com, huge kudos to ELES for their swift response. Within about an hour of being reported broken to the station manager, the McPherson Square Street elevator is back up and running, just in time for the parade to start.

This is the part of the reason why I’m voting for you in the primary. You propose actual solutions to things rather than attacking your opponents. Thank you, and keep up the good work!

Is there any update on the replacement of the seat upholstery? Most of the buses I get still have the old fabric (including the one I’m on right now).

@wmata.com, the interior screen doesn’t work on bus 4648. All exterior screens and announcements are working fine.

Also, there is no way to check elevator status at Silver Spring Transit Center. All this data is available from the API that you give to developers so I compiled my own website that shows elevator status similarly to the old WMATA website.

Additionally, the PA announcements in the stations are saying that Medical Center is completely inaccessible by elevator when in reality, both the new street elevators on the NB side of 355 are fully operational.
110
Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
For the elevator page, it would be nice if we could filter out the list to only show units that are out of service. Also some stations have newer elevators that are not listed on this page such as Medical Center.

Like I’m all for enforcing fares (it bothers me that so many people don’t pay), but it should NOT be done in a way that riles up people and potentially endangers the people who are doing the right thing and paying.
010
Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
I am almost certain that if the operator did not state the fare to this individual, they would’ve never said a word to me.
110
Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
I am very much questioning the effectiveness of this whole stating the fare thing. It seems that if there are not law-enforcement officers actively enforcing the fare, then most people will just continue to not pay and also make paying riders feel uncomfortable/unsafe.

Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
On the M70 this afternoon, someone decided to sit across the aisle from me and mutter threats at me after I looked up when the driver told him that the fare was $2.25. This person did not pay and thankfully ended up exiting the bus before it left Bethesda.

Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 29/05/2026
@wmata.com this new stating the fare thing is wildly ineffective. Now some fare evaders are getting so riled up about it that they’re taking their anger out on other passengers including PAYING riders like myself.

Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 17/05/2026
Can we please bring back the page that lets you check elevator status systemwide rather than having to navigate to each individual station page?

Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 18/04/2026
Also pretty much all the older buses at Montgomery need a deep cleaning and the fabric seats replaced. Basically every other division has the new seats on nearly all the buses and they are much cleaner.

@wmata.com huge props to the station manager at Gallery Place Entrance C for a very swift response to a customer who fell at the bottom of the escalator. He safely stopped the escalator and assisted a bystander with helping the customer up.

This is great, but can you guys also please do something for adults with autism as well? Why is the focus only children and excluding grown adults with this lifelong condition who have similar interests in public transit and also face the some of the same struggles?

@wmata.com the farebox on bus 4732 is going crazy. I think it might’ve been doing this the other day too.

Ended up getting on an M22 that showed up a couple minutes afterward so I don’t have to wait in the rain. But I still have to wait for the next bus at Bethesda.

Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 27/03/2026
@wmata.com, the WB M70 just left myself and another rider stranded in the rain at stop 2000126 as 7264 just blew past the stop. Can we please get articulated buses on this route during rush-hour? I’ve been asking for this for about a year at this point.

@wmata.com, huge kudos to the Metro employee Derek Hendricks who was very patiently helping a seemingly lost teenager at Bethesda Station figure out which buses to take to get home.

I just decided to check the comments on the renewable energy video again and a ways down there was a comment with plenty of likes and a few replies where people were essentially taking bets on when I'd come out as trans. What is with these weird little freaks?

Also in that same restroom, the soap dispenser isn’t working at all. It has soap in it, and presses in all the way, but no soap comes out. And the faucet is excessively powerful and splashes water all over the place while using it.

Hey @wmata.com, in the customer restroom at Gallery Place Exit C (N206), the door is sagging so badly that it wont close all the way (or lock) without forcefully shoving it shut, and then it gets stuck and requires excessive force to open.

Hey @transit.app, what’s up with the monthly leaderboards? It appears that they have been purged like halfway through the month.

Elijah @realelijahc.bsky.social · 13/03/2026
So I don’t understand how there is no water at the station for months yet it’s safe to have it open and operating. Would it be possible for someone to elaborate on that?

Is there any update on when this will get resolved? It’s been almost 3 months at this point. I’ve noticed that many restrooms across the system have been closed for unreasonably long periods of time as of lately.

Metro is extremely expensive and free Ride On buses doesn’t suffice. For me, only convenient ways to get to any of the campuses from my house involve using at least one WMATA service.

There isn’t even a good reason they’re doing this other than to piss off their political opponents and hurt the most vulnerable groups of people and generate headlines.

Also, if the Republicans really hated trans people this much they wouldn’t be overly obsessed with them like this. Generally, the Republicans in congress left trans people alone and mind their own business up until very recently.

My point still stands. Especially after what happened yeaterday. This authority is so heavily abused nowadays. I’m not saying they shouldn’t have the authority to do this, it should just be harder for them to do it for stupid and unproductive reasons.
