Now, maybe I'm being obtuse or the site owners are being a little up-tight (or broad in their scope definition), but this is not how I understand web site "consent" to work: "give us permission or go away" doesn't seem optional (other than the option not to interact with the site at all).

#ThrowbackThursday A terabyte of RAM from 2010... This was to be installed in IBM X-series NUMA-bussed stacks running VMware and RHEL. Estimated worth today about $10. Cost at the time, significantly more.

Ranged on an office desk: 8 stacks, of 16 packs each, of 2 RAM sticks of a meagre 4GiB each.

Wellp, I've been wondering for months what the scam behind all the AI "tai chi" and "chair workout" scams was. I guess it is a variation on this, targetting a specific demographic.

Police are urging members of the public to be aware of an online scam targeting people interested in attending fitness sessions in Auckland.

Victims have reported seeing Tai Chi classes being advertised on Facebook and asking them to register their interest.

After completing the online form the victims are contacted, usually via WhatsApp, and being instructed to download an app which is claimed to be used to book classes.

Once downloaded this app allows the scammers to access the victims bank accounts.
Multiple victims have reported losing large sums of money.

Police are advising the public to be aware of this scam and to not engage with anyone over WhatsApp about downloading apps onto their phone.
