FWIW... A 2019 FBI interview memo says former Palm Beach police chief Michael Reiter told agents that Trump called him in July 2006, thanked police for investigating Epstein, said people had known what Epstein was doing, and reportedly urged them to look at Ghislaine Maxwell as well.

It feels uncomfortable to resist depersonalization because it increases cognitive load to refrain from collapsing categories. "They're all evil" is easier than "they're humans with different perspectives." "I want them dead" is easier than "how do I exist with people I am uncomfortable with?"
