I recently finished "The Rushworth Family Plot" and I have to compliment her on her amazing characterization! I love Jonathan and Juliet so much and I am beside myself waiting for the next book to see how they might be able to reunite. For the mystery, I had too many options to accurately guess!

Don't apologize- life happens! I'm reading Claudia Gray's "The Rushworth Family Plot" and if it wasn't for your series on Mansfield Park I wouldn't care about these MP characters as much as I do! 🤣

This is my favourite podcast, and it was such a joy yesterday to listen to! As someone who doesn't love the 2005 version it was good to listen to what makes it enjoyable and it's drawbacks.

I recently finished Mimi Matthews' "Rules for Ruin", her first book in her new "Crinoline Academy" series! Matthews has a talent for making unique characters who feel real. I loved Effie and Gabriel's story and I loved to see his tenderness towards her! I can't wait for the next book!

I just finished A Terribly Nasty Business by Julia Seales and it was just as good as the first in the series! Funny, clever and engaging! I know it just came out but now I'm dying for the next mystery!

I recently finished "The Gresham Scandal" by @tracygrant.bsky.social and thought the unmasking of a new adversary was very engaging! I found it very interesting to pick up the changes in society and opinion from the earlier mysteries, the shift from revolutionary ideals. #historicalmystery

I recently finished @amaliehoward.bsky.social's The Worst Duke in London and I loved it so much. I was so happy for them, and just like in 10 Things I Hate About You that the villain got what he deserved! I can't wait to learn what Briar's rom-com connection is and to read her story!

I find the characterization of Lady Catherine and Mr Collins to be so excellently done. They would have opinions on the proper height of a gentleman as if Jonathan Darcy had any control over that!

I'm listening to @amaliehoward.bsky.social's "Never Met a Duke Like You" and I love the nods to Clueless and Emma! They are still at their "enemies" stage so I can't wait to see how this romance comes to be! 💖 #HistoricalRomance
The cover of Amalie Howard's "Never Met a Duke Like You". The couple is coming down a large staircase, she is wearing a yellow gown, off the shoulder, with a polonaise and ruffles. I just finished listening to "Always Be My Duchess" and I am in love with this concept (classic rom-coms as historical romance - this one is inspired by Pretty Woman)! Really enjoyable, I can't wait to read/listen to the rest! #HistoricalRomance
The audiobook cover of "Always be My Duchess" featuring a cartoon style blue cover with a man wearing a blue coat with tails, white pants and boots, leaning back to back with a woman in a red gown. After finishing the third in the series, by accident, I had to go back and start at the beginning of Christi Caldwell's "All The Duke's Sins" series! "Along Came A Lady" was a great introduction!

I usually read gentle and light-hearted books; therefore, I don't often read books that would have a "Who hurt you?" line. Christi Caldwell's "The Duke and the Diamond" had a great one!

I finished Christi Caldwell's "The Diamond and the Duke" which is her take on Beauty and the Beast! It was emotional and captivating. I needed more after it was finished, an epilogue or even the next in the series (if there will be one), just so I can see a snippet of their life!

Reading "The Southcott Jewels by Tracy Grant and thinking about this line. It also made me think about how this is the beginning of a transitional period in the 1800s. We are leaving regency and all the changes that will come with that. @tracygrant.bsky.social

I don't often read books that feature a "Touch her and die" sort of trope, but I have to admit I like the vibe here! - Return to Satterthwaite Court!
Screenshot of text: Her touch had been as soft as butterfly wings dancing over his skin. It had soothed the anger that had rushed through his veins after he’d hauled her to the ground. The fury he’d felt at the thought of anything—or anyone—causing her injury.
