(5/6) How you can participate: teams of 1–3 pick a published finding and replicate it using LAION-fMRI. No new data collection. Everything is provided via our Python package. Every valid report gets the chance at co-authorship on the consortium paper and to win one of our cash prices of $2,500

(4/6) Enter LAION-fMRI: densely-sampled 7T fMRI responses to 25,000+ natural images across 5 subjects, designed to cover the space of natural images at exceptional scale and diversity.

(3/6) They're rarely tested directly. And recent work (e.g. by @ykamit.bsky.social) suggests common datasets may lack image diversity and have high train/test similarity, opening the door to leakage. doi.org/10.1016/j.ne...

(2/6) Condition-rich fMRI studies have driven huge progress in visual neuroscience. But they assume (1) stimuli are broadly sampled from natural images, and (2) findings generalize across that distribution. Are these assumptions actually true?

(1/6) Do our visual neuroscience findings actually replicate? And do they generalize beyond the datasets they were found in? We've lauched re:vision, a community-driven initiative to answer these questions, and we are looking for scientistis to participate. re-vision-initiative.org

Today at #VSS2026 we are introducing re:vision, a community driven replication/generalization initiative based on our newly released LAION-fMRI dataset. Come to the satellite at 2pm to learn more about it & why you may want to participate! The room Blue Heron is in the upstairs region of the lobby.
