One barrier could be the learner not accessing the subject as they lack confidence and experience - this could limit their interactions in class. Often our subject has been stereotyped and its important that we make the lessons as accessible as possible #REChatUK

Ensure routine and same format for presentations, activities and starters. This helps settle and remove some barriers #REChatUK

Teaching through story and making links. I use the same story, but may use different sheets according to reading age. #REChatUK

Definitely- we are expected to teach everyone within our classes, but often we aren’t unskilled to understand the current research and keeping up to date #REChatUK

Flat lay done for tomorrow’s London Marathon. I’m running for @alzheimersresearchuk.org - my Dad has it and it’s been really hard the past 18 months watching him slip away. There are good days, there are bad days but future generations need hope…. www.justgiving.com/page/matthew...

As you know I’m running the London Marathon and The Race to The King Ultra (102km) this year in aid of Alzheimer’s Research UK. It’s a cause very close to my heart and it would be great to raise as much money as possible. www.justgiving.com/page/matthew...

I got in just after 9. Pooped!

One of those journeys then. So far nice and quiet on my train. Just waiting for the “out for the night” crew past Reading

110

I heard there’s a bit of a snarl up on the trains

Do I get a choice? Fancy stuff there.

Winner winner, chicken dinner!

After a flying visit (on the train) to #TTRConnect to present and have a good natter with friends - I’m heading back down south. Have to say I’m shattered but will eventually get home just after 9

I’ve been on a social media break - at least from posting. We do need a larger movement but I have blocked a lot of nonsense on the other place. Still doesn’t stop people overreacting to news articles or thinking before posting…..

It’s been a day of bumping into old colleagues - my deputy head from 20 years ago and a T&L coordinator from 10 years ago. Don’t seem to have aged - though retirement is suiting them. I think if you retire in your 50s as a teacher - you get some kind of rejuvenating powers. It’s making me think……..
