It is interesting that the Alliance is a pluralistic society (it is kind of rare to see black coded characters in an anime in general, so it has to be deliberate) and the Autocracy is ruled by old crusty white European coded folks.

your mistake was thinking that the United States of America was a "liberal democracy" with no struggle. Its more like a neoliberal capitalist hellscape where a lot of Americans struggle to make ends meet. Perhaps living in the upper middle class bubble has prevented you from seeing that.

I agree with what you said and I needed to be more specific with my initial point. When I said depth I meant more like an interesting premise. Street Fighter is basically just goofy looking dudes fighting each other. I would like to see something like System Shock adapted to a movie.

Society would be better if we stopped making movies about video games. Video games are an interactive medium and the stories are secondary most of the time. There's a handful of video games with enough depth to support a movie but Street Fighter isn't one of them. I'll pass.

Its kind of insane because if we keep going along these lines eventually we will be completely dependent on AI for software development and humans won't be able to easily unfuck what the AI does.

I never belonged to a fraternity but all the stories I've heard have been awful. They don't only assault women, they also assault their own members as part of their hazing rituals. And they promote secrecy and protect their own from accountability.

We need to talk about how fraternities are institutions that enable young men to act out their ids in irresponsible ways. Not only against women, but also against their own members with their hazing practices that often involve behaviors that are borderline sexual assault.

I think those trials were the start of a general awareness of the dangers of workplace sexual harassment. I know that when I was growing up in. The 90s there was a general awareness of Anita Hill and how badly she was treated.

Not really. The Anita Hill trials were before my time but I caught clips of it and its all sorts of embarrassing victim blaming behavior from the congressmen running the trial.

This is a baller project. Much respect. I can relate to a lot of what you wrote, especially dealing with a traumatic event at 8 years old. And I feel very similarly about my passions of comics and anime as you do, although I compensate by being picky and digging into independent/underground comics.
