I have lived in red areas of the east coast, where California is hyped up as if it is a Bad Place. That WOULD cheer the destruction of the state. I have family members who refused to believe I worked in San Francisco because "You CAN'T! You're Not Gay!" (lol guess what)

They use "Anthroid" and "Nonthroid" to distinguish for example Vinci, a sapient/sentient/sophontic raccoon, from a "wild" feral/non-bipedal raccoon. And yeah, I've seen one other furry author use "Anthroid" but they are meaning "Furry Robot" like "Android" Not the same thing.

And yeah, I have been using "Sophontic Anthroid".And not Sophon from Three Body Problem, but Sophont, coined by Poul Anderson and his wife in the early 1960s. "Anthroid" is like saying "Human". A self-named scientific term used to differentiate a "Cat" Guy, from a Housecat.

ESPECIALLY if the author has a non-homogenous dominant species. like -WE- have "Humans" not ("Humans" and "Wolves" And "Bunnies") , there's ONE sophontic anthroid species in OUR world. So I've made a world where "Racism" or "Speciesism" isn't at thing too. That changes a VAST Amount of history.

I think a lot of furry fandom writers who write "Modern American" stories have missed another point that would not have happened as it did. Racism. ANY form of Racial/Species bias. We see it touched upon in Zootopia. But a LOT of history would be much different.

I've tried VR Chat, the kids like it, but... Every place I go that has people, is basically a VERY DARK room where people sit around and voice chat in the dark. AI Sucks. I want VR Chat to support nerdy fucks like ME, who don't use windows. But if you even TRY to use Not Windows, BAN.

I started off this evening writing research trying to work out how history would change if Hiroshima/Nagasaki were not bombed. and it rolled into "Well, what if we removed WWI?" and it just changes EVERYTHING to where I either need to push the story +50 years or more. or; get rid of "modern life"

Yeah, they stepped in and changed WWII. Kastagir pointed to a chunk of Japan "You so much as send a TOURIST to this section of the country, I will end your bloodline." Basically, no holocaust, no hiroshima, mostly by preventing Germany/Japan from gaining the strength it did early on.

Ooooh, there were a LOT of things going on, but removing WWI removes WWII and removes nukes.... and a LOT of science.. holy fuck the science... We'd be technologically (and SPREAD spectrum tech, not just computers). of where OUR world was in 1940. No satelite, no internet, no space race.

I opened this Pandora's Box of Worms because I needed to change the end of WWII. AND all the nuclear weapon shit. And that they would never stand by while a holocaust was going on. So I seriously considered the split being at WWI and going far more Steampunk/BlimpPunk... It is my fiction.

small touch of historical what-if dilemma. in the Guardian's Novels, their world history split from ours on August 6, 1945. Instead of bombing Hiroshima, they destroy Sarushima Island in Tokyo Bay. The dilemma is in all the things that have to change to compensate for the differences.

I mean, okay, sure, trigger warnings are a good consideration to have. I'm not against them. It does not take much effort to find someone bad mouthing "do you need a trigger warning for everything?" Usually someone who's never had a panic attack or flashback.

Saw someone on bookstagram doing a "Identify the book by the Trigger Warnings", the author did a "These are potential triggers within this novel." and it was just this three page LIST of things. And there were people that were like "More like REASONS TO READ am I rite?" And I just... huh?

I've been working on this story itself for now 11 years. My spouse is my #1 beta reader since the are responsible for the creation and fleshing out of nearly every character. I have other friends who have read the first two books who are also beta reading.
