Heads up for anyone else who might panic about a whole bunch of AWS API calls triggering in different regions for services you don't use - check to see if it's just Resource Explorer doing its thing before letting your heart rate get too high.

Screenshot from the AWS billing console showing a number of entries for the AWS Glue service in many different regions that I don't use.

Screenshot from AWS CloudTrail showing Resource Explorer making read requests against a bunch of different services to discover resources.

I’m rehabbing my old @steampowered.com hardware beta machine and I’m in awe at every step. Hat tip to the folks at @valvesoftware.com who hand-built C14-C13 extensions to perfectly fit this custom case. There are so many little thoughtful touches in here that were hidden from all but 300 of us.

The receiver end of a C14 to C13 extension that was cut and reattached to an aftermarket connector. This was almost certainly done by hand because the strain relief isn’t fully engaged, and if they were built by machine it would be a fully molded part.

I never pass up a CSeries photo op (taken last week departing BOS)

Quick fun Monday project: put a shelf on the rack to get my batteries off the floor by the washer (water is good for them, right?). Next up: consolidating the daisy-chained UPS and EcoFlow.

Small server rack with a plywood shelf on top. The shelf has an ecoflow battery and UPS connected together to power the equipment within the rack.
