Born in Wichita. Lived in Dallas area until 5 or so. Western Kansas and then NE Arkansas. Back to northwest Texas at 12. College in Arkansas and Oklahoma City. Then Wichita, Atlanta, Oakland, Tucson, Philadelphia, Austin, back to Wichita, back to okc, Southern Louisiana, Phoenix, now TN. It fits.

Bought my ticket 2 months ago, with upgrade to 1st. I don't fly that much and it's worth it to me to be comfortable. Checked in this morning with no seat assignment. Less than amused. Got a seat now, all good, but told this is due to broken seats on the plane that haven't been replaced. Wtf?

67°, 100% humidity here in the woods west of Nashville. Neighbor out with a chainsaw. Birds and bugs making all kinds of noise. Squirrels are running around in the trees. Coffee was good. Business trip to DC Monday. I'll miss home. Happy Saturday!

So many great albums it's hard to pick just one. This was the first that came to mind today. Ella Fitzgerald is my favorite singer and Louis Armstrong is everything that's joyful, emotional and powerful in music. The 2 together are perfection.

We've got Freya the cat, a rescue from Arizona. A bunny that lives somewhere about halfway up our driveway. One of approximately 3 million chipmunks that live around our house and in the forest around us. Finally Astrid the dog, a rescue from our local shelter here in TN.

It's typically 4°F or so cooler at our house which is surrounded by 80-100 foot tall trees. Saves energy costs and the psychological benefits of being among the trees with all the wildlife is immeasurable.

We live out in the woods in a rural area west of Nashville. It's really beautiful out here. This is looking south from our porch. We keep quiet, keep to ourselves and it's been OK.

That's the same clock I had for years. I think my banjo may be the oldest thing I use semi-regularly. It was made in the early 1900s. I got it from my dad. I also have his 1964 Epiphone Seville classical guitar. My oldest personal guitar is a 1979 Fender Lead II.

We had a visitor on the driveway yesterday. My wife sent me the Pic. There's been quite a few black bear sightings in our area recently. I'm hoping/ not hoping to see one in the woods to our north. Beyond our property are 100s of acres of undeveloped forest so it's possible! Have a great day.

There's so many great things. I smoked a pork belly a couple days ago that was phenomenal. Roasted vegetables. I cooked an orzo, shrimp and vegetable thing that was great. My wife makes a tortellini, spinach, cream and cheese thing that's to die for. And always, a nice wine!

Peel belly has been on smoke for about 2 hours. Just added the chops. Got some great hickory smoke going from a tree we had taken down by our house. It's serving us well!
