CanSecWest is only a few weeks away. I don't run my Hardware Implants class very often, and rarely outside the USA, so if you want to take it, this might be your last chance for at least a year. If you're considering it but haven't registered yet, let us know asap!

This is a four-day crash course in rapid prototyping for hardware hacking. You'll build upon the basics you already covered in an introductory hardware hacking course and will design and assemble, fro...

@oflynn.com Expanded maple link with i2c code, debug log, color highlighting the addresses found, etc. Works pretty well. I haven't tested the emmc part yet. Totally vibe coded off your vibe code. So vibe^2. Testing it with the adafruit sensors now.

Sometimes you make your own trigger by shorting two pins together. Yes, this is an obscure hdmi to rca decoder. They actually protected the firmware. Soon it will be unlocked. Glitching this arm processor, soonish.

I really like the yepkit tools for powering on and off devices when testing. I mean their usb hub is cool but what if your device isn’t powered by usb? Sure other solutions but a board with software that can be scripted after testing for jtag/debug access via an onboard mechanical relay is cool.

@oflynn.com I always see you in your posts or videos come with some clutch tool I didn’t think I needed - like the wet grinder that I now use to sharpen ferrite rods… here is one tool I use a bit handee clamp.

Magnet wired my ccdebugger so I could program the cc2531 with bumblebee to use the old killabee zigbee tools. Wow, that’s some wild naming..Who waits for a board or connectors from DigiKey when you can just solder it up…

May the trumpets play for the zigbee thermostat. Have to break out my spares. I had fun with its i2c bus, well as you can tell…a little bit too much fun :-)

Break time from research to learning how to fix Nintendo dslite for my kiddo. Adding usb-c, new display and buttons. Will glitch it later :-)

It 2025. The clippy attack works on flash chips, dropping into the vendors custom uboot commands. Up next trezor practice, new emp platform holder based on cnc 3018 frame.

Sometimes to get an understanding of a board I am working on I get different variations of the vendors boards to understand their evolution for comparison…it’s a hobby…cough ahem…

I am back hacking at remote power management tools again. I picked up an old project. I finally just drilled under neath the board and got to the pin on the BGA, i had never done that before and pretty sure its not something you can do all the time. But allowed me to pull the pin high...

There was a really cool talk and demo by @bunnie.org on looking inside of WCLSP ICs with IR leds and a camera with the IR filter removed. Extremly cool how relatively low tech this is, you can clearly see the logic structure of the IC without any physical modification to the soldered down IC. #38C3
A microscope screen showing the inside of an IC, you can see the logic structure quite clearlyA full view of the setup, its a camera mounted to a basic microscope lens and an IR LED shining onto an iPhone motherboard

Citrix Let Me Count the Persistence: /etc/rc.netscaler - auto-sync filesystems from /flash/nsconfig. Replace cron with a script that runs whatever you want and then runs the old cron binary you can hide in nsconfig named ZebOS.conf.5, honeypots can teach you new tricks. In my case TA hid ssh keys.
