This actually dovetails into the Reigns discussion over the last 24-48 hours. Reigns has 3 singles' losses since the beginning of 2022! One was a DQ. The other two were in these gimmick matches w/ significant interference. It's the entire difference b/n WWE and AEW!

Ospreay beats Mark Davis. Mox tried to get Ospreay to be ruthless. He wouldn't. So, he's building to getting to that point. And Davis is also a former friend/faction member with Ospreay.

Hangman/Brodido beat The Demand. This continues Hangman's return and makes the Trios titles a chaotic belt to hold because of all the randomness coming from having 6 ppl wrestling. It makes sense THIS title changes often.

Persephone beat Statlander. Hikaru Shida interfered after Statlander interfered with her last week when she tried to help Persephone beat Maya World.

Jericho/Darby/Mistico beat Okada/Knight/Hechicero. The Darby/Kevin Knight thing has been going for a while now. Fletcher can make fun of Okada for losing a match. Hechicero/Mistico is a CMLL feud that may extend to All In?

Kyle Fletcher beats Mike Bailey. Post-match had Okada interrupting Fletcher's celebration. They've been building that tension for weeks.

Brawling Birds/Willow beat Divine Dominion/Mercedes when Willow rolls up Mercedes for the win (!). Set up the Women's Tag title match, and builds the Women's World title match at the same time.

Andrade beats Komander and Ciampa, then cuts a promo about becoming AEW Champion. Post-match angle with MJF getting his ring back, and whining about being the REAL champion. Builds towards the Casino Gauntlet.

Deathriders beat Young Bucks after Copeland accidentally bumps into one of the Bucks, and Mox rolls him up. Clearly builds the tension for Cage/Cope v. Bucks at All In.

The common theme from the disingenuous BS low ratings on Cagematch for that Grand Slam: Mexico edition of Dynamite (and it is STILL rated at 9.18 rn) is that storylines didn't progress. In this thread, I'm gonna dispell that trash using each match on the entire card:

Because he was the most genuine character in the group. Reigns was too Cena-coded. Rollins felt fabricated. Ambrose felt the most real. He was also hilarious! Ppl very much compared his character to Stone Cold. But WWE made their choice. They wanted Reigns.

If you've grown up a WWE fan, you may not even know who Ambrose is. You may only know of Reigns as The Tribal Chief. You may only know Rollins for that 'Mania cash-in. However, believe me when I tell you that the man ppl wanted to be THE GUY coming out of that group was Ambrose. Why?

It just hit me that there are a TON of ppl that vaguely remember The Shield. They broke up 12 years ago (jfc we're old). But if you are just passively familiar with them, it probably comes as a shock that the most over guy in the group was Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley).
